Snowball 123 is a variety of Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. Botrytis) of medium early ripening. Bred by the specialists of the French company HM.CLAUSE. In 1994 it was added to the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation. Approved for use in all regions of Russia.
The period from the emergence of seedlings to the onset of technical ripeness is 85 - 115 days, from planting seedlings in the ground to harvesting - 55 - 85 days. Planting scheme: 70 × 30 cm.
Plants are medium in size. The leaf rosette is compact, upright. The heads are dense, flat-rounded, medium-sized, white, weighing 600 - 1200 grams, covered with integumentary leaves. Productivity per square meter - 2 - 3 kg.
This variety is used for fresh summer and autumn consumption, canning and freezing.

I am growing snowball for the fourth season and I am very happy. But the first time I sowed seedlings, I was worried. The leaves of the seedlings were gray-blue, not green, a color very similar to the red cabbage in the neighboring greenhouse. But an excellent cauliflower with plump compact forks has grown. I also like that the leaves grow vertically around the head, and it is enough to slightly break and bend them in the middle to protect the cabbage from the sun and keep it snow-white. But the variety has a slight drawback - everything ripens and immediately, if we do not have time to eat it, it grows old and loses its pleasant sweetish taste. Therefore, we adapted to sow Snowball in three terms. The first time in March in a greenhouse for seedlings, the second - in early April, immediately in the beds under the film. And the third at the beginning of May, immediately into the open ground. We freeze what is not eaten from the summer harvest, and ferment the excess of the autumn harvest.
