Among them is a relatively new variety with the sonorous name Imperator, the originator of which is Agrofirma Poisk LLC. Since 2006, it has been registered in the State Register of Plants of the Russian Federation, approved for cultivation in the Central Region (Bryansk, Vladimir, Ivanovsk, Kaluga, Moscow, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tula regions). Appearance

Carrots have a semi-spreading rosette of leaves. The leaf plate is long, pinnately dissected, with a fine to medium degree of dissection, green in color. The root crop is even, beautiful and long - up to 25 or 30 cm, in volume - 5 cm. The shape is cylindrical, tapering towards the base, the tip is rounded, the head is even. Weight from 80 to 180 g. Excellent taste. The pulp is firm, crispy, sweet, juicy, with a pleasant aroma. The color of the peel and pulp is orange-red. The core is small, the same color as the pulp. • carrots have excellent keeping quality - root crops, subject to storage standards, can last until the next harvest without losing their consumer qualities.

Features of agricultural technology

The Imperator variety is sown in open ground in late April - early May. The seeds sold by conscientious sellers have been properly processed and protected from diseases. They look like multicolored dragees and are ready to disembark without additional preparation. The depth of planting planting material is 1 cm. The distance between the rows is 15 - 20 cm, the seeds are laid out at a distance of 4 - 5 cm from each other.

To obtain a good harvest, light loamy or sandy loam soils and good watering are needed. A drip irrigation system is most suitable. In the process of feeding, you should not get carried away with nitrogen-containing fertilizers, it is better to give preference to phosphorus-potassium fertilizers.

This carrot is perfect for winter sowing. Planting material is sown during a period when the air temperature is stable at + 2 ° C during the day and does not drop below -5 ° C at night.

Preventive measures should be directed against powdery mildew and cercosporosis.
