Tomato Green Zebra has striped green fruits with a yellow or orange-red tint. The average fruit weight is only 170 grams. Several rare varieties of tomato became a discovery for me this season, one of which is Amethyst Jewel, (Amethyst Jewel or Amethyst Treasure). Sowed on seedlings in early March, planted in open ground late this season, at the end of June. It was cold for a long time. The bushes turned out to be not very high, maybe a meter with a tail, although it is declared as indeterminate, tall. But it was the most productive and unusually beautiful variety. The bushes were not tied up, they were spread out on mulch from hay. The fruits are very large, glossy, like toys. The color is unreal, the transition from pink-crimson to dark lilac. Despite their fake toy look, they are very tasty, fleshy, juicy. Delicious sweet salad variety. They write that it is suitable for conservation, but for conservation it is large, and it is simply a pity to translate such beauty into juice. Sliced in lettuce, along with yellow and orange tomatoes, sprinkled with green onions is just a table decoration. By the end of the summer, however, I fell ill with the tip, but here it was my fault, there was no time to fertilize, so maybe there was not enough calcium. Or maybe because of the drought, there was no rain, and I also removed the watering so that the fruits do not crack. But the main thing is that you cannot buy this on the market. This variety simply gives inspiration to gardening.
Another exotic variety that is impossible not to fall in love with is Banana Legs. I did not see these seeds on sale, I bought them from private collectors. She planted, like other varieties, through seedlings. A determinant variety that could not be pinned, but I formed into 4 stems. I removed the extra stepsons, so that they would not take away strength from the bush, and the fruits were not very small. The low bushes were simply covered with crops, hung from top to bottom like icicles, even, beautiful bright yellow fruits. The yield of this tomato is simply amazing, despite the cold summer this year. Juicy, sweet, delicious tomatoes. Very unusual in appearance, like Christmas trees, bushes adorned the garden. They are suitable for salting, but my children loved them so much that they simply did not reach conservation. The children first of all ran to them, fingering their brushes, maybe somewhere a tomato turned yellow, but it was not visible in the bunch. After such beauty, I don’t want to plant ordinary varieties. I want exotic))
I read a lot about the Auria variety and ended up planting several seeds. Everything that I planted rose quickly. In May, I transplanted it into a greenhouse. So, about the tomato itself. When it came time to harvest, the bush was strewn with red tomatoes shaped like a man's (long, forked at the end). Little to say - it was strewn, there were so many tomatoes that the bush was just red, and even a green shaft. Grown in two stems. From 5 to 10 tomatoes from 80 to 150 g, length more than 10 cm were tied in a brush. To taste: moderately sour with a sweetish tinge, fleshy, few seeds. They say that tomatoes of this variety suffer from apical rot, but this disease was not met on my two bushes, although I collected about 200 fruits. In my opinion, everyone should have this variety in a greenhouse, but you should not plant a lot of bushes, the variety is very productive ... You just can't recycle that much.
Currently, so many exotic tomatoes have appeared that it is simply impossible to choose without a specialist recall. I am familiar with the Green Zebra tomato. The fruits are tasty, not sour or sweet, they have their own taste - fruity, not tomato. Not many fruits ripen on the bush - up to 2 kg, of interesting colors. The ripeness of a tomato can be determined simply by clicking on the fruit, if it is soft, then it can be harvested. They were afraid to try many of those whom he treated, since they were considered immature, but their opinion changed after the tasting. They were surprised - that color and ripe, they had to share the seeds, there are enough of them in the fruits. I always grow several bushes in a greenhouse, and I advise you too.
I am hooked on green varieties. I liked the Malachite box - large-fruited, with green ripe fruits. It tastes more like kiwi. I also grew Green Sugar. Ripe tomatoes are green-yellow in color, sweet, very soft and juicy, not stored for a long time. It must be consumed immediately after removal from the bush. A lot of fruits are tied, the average weight is 200 g. Of course, connoisseurs of real tomato flavor may not like these varieties, they are very sweet and juicy, and taste more like a fruit. But for lovers of exotic tomatoes with new flavors, they are just right.
