Tomato variety Korolevich

Altai breeders presented a truly royal gift to vegetable growers. Meet the tomato Korolevich, and this vegetable fully justifies its name. It was created by the Central Siberian Botanical Garden of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Agrofirm "Altai Seeds" and the KFH "Kondakov Sergey Nikolaevich". In 2008, the variety was registered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia and received admission to cultivation in all regions of the country. Recommended for outdoor cultivation. In cooler regions, it is better to plant the tomato in greenhouses. Our hero is not a hybrid.

Description

The plant is indeterminate, 1.5 - 1.8 meters high. The bush is sprawling, the foliage is moderate, which means that more nutrients will get to the fruits. Leaves are ordinary, with a slightly wrinkled surface, medium in size, green. The inflorescence is of a simple type. The first fruit cluster is formed after 6-7 leaves. Peduncle without articulation.

The fruits are very large, heavy, the State Register recorded a weight of 200 grams, the originator gives data on the weight from 200 to 800 grams. Tomato growers confirm that the crop is really large-fruited, the average weight of tomatoes is about 350 grams. If the plant is correctly formed and the brush is normalized, then you can get copies of 900 grams. Tomatoes have a not too dense structure, heart-shaped in shape, slightly ribbed. The skin is glossy, not thick. Unripe tomato of green color, without a dark spot at the stalk. When ripe, it becomes deep pink. The flesh on the cut is the same pink, tender (it just melts in the mouth), juicy, not watery, very fleshy. Although the pulp is multi-chamber (the number of nests is more than 6), the chambers are very small, with a small amount of seeds. The taste is excellent; many vegetable growers call the taste delicious.

Characteristics

  • Korolevich, like most large-sized ones, is a mid-season variety. From the moment of emergence of full shoots to the beginning of fruiting, it takes about 115 days. The weather can make adjustments in these terms;
  • the yield of marketable fruits, according to the State Register, is 2.0 kg per square meter. In other sources, this figure is more encouraging - from 2 to 5 kg per plant;
  • the adaptability of the tomato is very high. The culture is capable of bearing fruit even at low temperatures;

  • the variety is resistant to major diseases, which is confirmed by many tomato growers. In the State Register there is neither confirmation nor refutation of this information;
  • transportability is not very good. Tomatoes are too heavy and soft, they can easily wrinkle on the road;
  • keeping quality is also insufficient. Ripe fruits should be used immediately for food or processed;
  • the way of use is universal. Fleshy tomatoes are primarily used in salads. The harvest can also be used for processing, excellent juice, pasta, sauce are obtained from the pulp, small tomatoes can be pickled and salted.

Agrotechnics

Seeds are sown for seedlings at the end of March. Plants are ready for transplanting into the ground in 60 - 65 days. Bushes are tied up and formed into 2 stems, and to get very large specimens - into 1 stem. The culture is demanding for watering and feeding. Preventive spraying is required.

Korolevich is a fruitful variety that delights with delicious taste. Growers are generally very happy with the crop. Agrotechnics for tomato require standard. The only drawback of the variety is the presence of green shoulders, which appear in cold weather, with a lack of light or with improper feeding. The seeds can be harvested by yourself.

Indeed, a wonderful variety. I have been planting it for the third year, already with my own seeds. For seedlings in March, late for our region. I sow at the end of February, I plant it in the greenhouse at the very end of April or until May 5, depending on the weather, under the covering material. Quite resistant to cladosporiosis (brown spot), which is often confused with late blight. Probably due to good ventilation, the variety is not rich in leaves. They are drooping, medium-sized, but very long, which is why at the beginning of the cultivation I thought that he was missing something, and overfed it a little)))). A good variety for a greenhouse, I advise.

I'm trying the variety now, I planted it at the end of March, maybe I didn't look for reviews. I'll try to calibrate the upper brushes earlier.
