Tomato variety Tolstoy

Tomato Tolstoy is a high-yielding indeterminate hybrid of Dutch origin with shortened internodes. It is a powerful, highly branched plant, reaching a height of three meters. The tomato ripens in about 65 - 70 days after planting the seedlings in the ground, has dark red dense fruits of a round shape (weighing 85 - 120 g), ripening in brushes (about 7 tomatoes can be harvested from one brush).

The Tolstoy tomato variety is valued for its high yield, uniformity of fruits and excellent taste. The tomato is ideal for both pickling and fresh consumption. He practically does not get sick, is resistant to diseases such as the tobacco mosaic virus, verticillosis, late blight, fusarium and cladosporiosis. Differs in cold resistance, long fruiting period (up to frost) and shade tolerance.

The beneficial properties of tomatoes are determined by their high nutrient content. Tomatoes of the Tolstoy variety are rich in mineral salts and vitamins (C, B1, B2, B9, A), include organic acids (in particular citric and malic), carbohydrates, sulfur, biotin, carotene and folic acid. They contain salts of magnesium, potassium, sodium, phosphorus and calcium, iodine, iron, copper, zinc and fluorine are also present in small concentrations.

This tomato is intended for growing, both in the open field and in film and glass unheated greenhouses. When grown in greenhouse conditions, the plant gives rather high yields (up to 15 kg of tomatoes can be removed from the bush). Cleaning with brushes is possible. A sunny place should be allocated for planting, loamy soil is preferable, the addition of organic fertilizers is allowed. Tolstoy tomatoes are suitable for transportation and can be stored for about a month without losing their appearance.

Colossal yield, does not get sick - the summer of 2013 was bad, by the fall, 1 time in 10 days it was sprayed with copper sulfate. That's just super - I haven't seen better from all positions. Would you like to send a photo - just a tree! 65 km south of Moscow.

Elena, did you grow in a greenhouse or in the open field?

I plant every year, the yield is good, they do not get sick, but are stored until the New Year (if they did not have time to eat it on time).

Tolstoy is the shittiest hybrid I've ever grown. He is the first to be affected by late blight. I planted it for two years and was convinced.

I planted seedlings. It so happened that after this, frosts and a sharp drop in temperature suddenly occurred. But these tomatoes survived, unlike potatoes and cucumbers! So plant, don't be afraid. My tomatoes went through the bad weather as heroes!
