Cherry variety Fatezh
Fatezh is a cherry of medium early ripening. Bred at the All-Russian Institute of Selection and Technology for Horticulture and Nursery (FGBNU VSTISP) through sowing seeds from free pollination of the Leningradskaya Yellow variety. The author of the variety: A.I. Evstratov.
In 2001, this cherry was included in the state register of the Russian Federation. Zoned in the Central region. Great for the Moscow region.
The trees are medium-sized (maximum height - 3 - 5 meters), the crown is spherical, drooping, spreading, medium thickened. When leaving the trunk, the skeletal branches form a right or obtuse angle. Shoots are straight, thick, ankle, colored brownish-brown. The leaves are large, wide, lanceolate, long-pointed, framed by finely serrated serration along the edge. The surface of the leaf blade with a slight gloss, smooth, colored dark green.
Flowers are white. Fruit ovaries are formed on bouquet branches and annual shoots (usually up to 5 - 6 lower buds of annual growth are classified as flowering).
Fatezh cherry fruits are large enough (average berry weight - 4.3 - 4.4 g, maximum - up to 6 g), one-dimensional, rounded. The skin is shiny, red-yellow in color. The pulp is light pink in color, juicy, with a dense structure, gristly, to taste - dessert type, sweet and sour. Tasting score - 4.5 - 4.7 points. The stone is light, of medium size, oval in shape, the separability from the pulp is good. The separation of the fruit from the stalk is dry.
By chemical composition, the fruits contain: dry matter (18%), the amount of sugars (12%), acids (2%), ascorbic acid (29 mg / 100 g). The variety is universal; when processing berries, the skin does not crack. Fruit transportability is good.
The variety is fast-growing and high-yielding: at the time of fruiting, trees enter the 4th - 5th year and bear up to 4 - 5 kg of fruit. At the age of 10 years, cherries give up to 30 kg of fruit per season. The maximum productivity of trees over 10 years old is 50 kg / v. or 33 t / ha.
The overall level of winter hardiness is estimated to be above average (about the same as that of cherry Vladimirskaya); the least frost-resistant buds (in comparison with the trunk and branches). The variety is not susceptible to diseases; it is noted for its high resistance to the main fungal diseases - coccomycosis and moniliosis.
The variety is self-fertile. Varieties may work well as pollinators Iput, Crimean, Ovstuzhenka, Raditsa, Jealous, Chermashnaya.
Among the main advantages of Fatezh cherries: high yield, high-quality fruits with a dessert taste, increased winter hardiness.
The main disadvantage is self-infertility. Also noted a tendency to gum flow.
