Pear variety Tatiana
When choosing a pear tree for his site, the gardener will certainly take an interest in the timing of the ripening of the crop. For example, autumn varieties are famous for their delicious fruits, which are used not only for food, but also for canning. These include a variety named Tatiana, which has good taste. It was created at JSC Rossoshanskaya Experimental Gardening Station. The registration date of the application for admission to cultivation is January 1989. The year of inclusion in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation is 1999. The region of admission in which the pear shows the best results is the North Caucasian (Republic of Ingushetia, North Ossetia-Alania, Adygea, Crimea, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkarian and Chechen, Stavropol and Krasnodar Territories, Rostov Region).
Description
The tree is fast growing and vigorous. At a young age, Tatiana looks compact, having a narrow pyramidal crown and an acute angle of origin of skeletal branches. But having entered the fruiting period, it spreads out in breadth, the crown acquires spherical or wide-pyramidal outlines, and the branches already have an oblique-vertical position. Due to the weak shoot-forming ability of the variety, the crown is not thickened, but rather rare. Skeletal branches are covered with a grayish-brown bark, on the trunk it is dark gray, smooth. The bulk of the pear harvest is formed on ringlets, the rest - at the ends of annual growths and twigs.
Tatiana's shoots are thick, erect, the bark is not pubescent, violet-brown, the lentils are small and hardly noticeable. The buds are triangular, brown, smooth, deviating from the shoot. The awakening of the buds along the length of the shoot is low. Leaves are medium to large in size, ovate, wide, with a rounded base and a short-pointed, slightly coiled top. The edge is wavy, with finely crenate serration. To the bottom, the leaf plate has a weak complexity, it is bent along the central vein. The surface of the pear leaf is smooth, without pubescence, and shiny. The leaf is attached to the shoot with a petiole, not thick and short. The flower buds are white-pink, the blossoming cup-shaped flowers are already white, have an average doubleness, the average volume is 3.5 - 4 cm. The petals are with a solid edge or slightly dissected. The stigma of the pistil is of the same height with anthers. The pedicel is ordinary.
Tatyana's fruits can be called large, their average weight is 150 grams, the maximum is 230 grams, according to the State Register of Plants of the Russian Federation - 280 grams. The pears are symmetrical, aligned, with a smooth surface, have a regular pear-shaped shape, the largest diameter in the lower third of the part. In the period of consumer maturity, the main color is golden-yellow, the integumentary color is represented by an intense blurred brownish-red blush on most of the surface. Subcutaneous points are small, densely located. The appearance of the fruit is estimated at 4.5 points. The calyx is open, the saucer is wide, shallow, grooved. The peduncle is thick, not very long, the base is overgrown. The pulp is of a pleasant white-cream color, extraordinarily tender and juicy, without granulation, buttery. The taste is excellent, dessert, sweet and sour, with sweetness prevailing. Tasting score - 4.5 points. 100 grams of pulp contains: 17.8% dry matter, 10.55% sugars, 0.29% titratable acids, 13.4 mg of ascorbic acid.
Characteristics
- Tatiana begins bearing fruit 7 to 8 years after planting with a one-year seedling, which indicates late early maturity;
- the variety is autumn. In the south of the Voronezh region, the ripening period is average. Harvesting maturity occurs in the first half of September. The pear consumption period lasts until November-December, for 80 - 90 days;
- flowering occurs somewhat later than that of other pear varieties growing in the recommended growing zone, therefore, return frosts do not threaten the flowers;
- according to the State Register, the average yield for the years of state tests (1995 - 1998) was 113 c / ha, which is almost 2 times higher than the indicator of the control variety. According to other data, the yield during the first fruiting period is 144 c / ha, and further increases to 154 c / ha;
- annual fruiting;
- ripe pears do not crumble;
- Tatiana's immunity is good. The culture is especially resistant to scab, weakly affected by powdery mildew;
- winter hardiness in the recommended growing zone is very high. In the winter of 1986 - 1987, when the thermometers recorded -34 ° C, tissue freezing was very weak - up to 1 point. But in the Ryazan region, winter hardiness is no longer so high, without insulation, young trees can die;
- the harvested crop perfectly tolerates transportation;
- if the storage conditions are observed, the fruits can lie until February;
- the way of use is universal. Especially from this pear compotes work out, their quality is estimated at 4.6 points.
Planting and leaving
The gardener can choose the time of planting a tree at his discretion - both autumn and spring will do. One-year-old saplings are characterized by rapid growth - during the season they can grow up to 2 meters. The culture does not differ in the nuances of care, except that special attention should be paid to the formation of the crown and subsequent pruning - thinning and sanitary.
Tatyana is a reliable variety that provides the gardener with an annual harvest of excellent marketable fruits. High winter hardiness and scab resistance are also advantages. Cons - tallness and an acute angle of branching from the trunk.
