Adretta potato variety
Adretta potatoes are table varieties with an early ripening period. It is recommended to plant potatoes of this variety at the end of April - mid-May, and harvesting can be carried out already in the middle of summer - after 60 - 80 days (depending on natural and climatic conditions) after planting the seeds.
The Adretta variety was bred by German breeders about two decades ago and made a splash in the domestic market of this product, possessing the pulp of yellow tubers and excellent taste that can satisfy even the most sophisticated gourmet. The average starch content (about 16%) contributes to giving the pulp of the tubers a delicate crumbly structure when boiled. Subsequently, breeders created a fairly large number of table potato varieties of this type, but for a whole decade, the Adretta variety remained the only potato with yellow pulp, which was used not only as feed for livestock, but also for preparing delicious gourmet culinary dishes.
The Adretta potato bush is an upright plant with large leaves of light green color, prone to abundant flowering. Inflorescences are spreading, multi-flowered with white corollas. The potato tubers of this variety are oval in shape, with pale yellow pulp, covered with yellow skin with few small shoots. The average weight of the marketable tuber of Adretta is approximately 120 - 140 grams.
Adretta's potatoes quickly gained great popularity among gardeners, summer residents and farmers also due to their extremely high yield (up to 45 tons per hectare), relative unpretentiousness in care, high resistance to various viral diseases, pests and adverse weather and climatic conditions. Also, one of the indisputable positive properties of this variety is its good keeping quality - the ability to store, ensuring a small percentage of spoilage of tubers as a result of rot and resistance to low temperatures. Even heavily frozen tubers of Adretta potatoes rarely acquire an unpleasant sweetish taste. But with all the positive properties, this variety, of course, is not ideal - it is susceptible to common scab, black leg, late blight and rhizoctonia.
Delicious potatoes. It ripens early, it is necessary to dig it in time, not to leave it in the ground. From a bush gives 25 tubers. Stored perfectly. The taste is slightly sweet, the flesh is very yellow, dry. Boil well over steam without cracking, then fry. When purified, it turns into mashed potatoes during cooking !!!
Where can you buy ADRETTA potatoes? And How?
Delicious potatoes. They were also grown on super chernozem in Ukraine and on clay near Moscow. The variety has been in our family for fifteen years. Other varieties have either disappeared, or the yield has gradually decreased.
I have also been growing these potatoes for a long time. First of all, I have not abandoned it for so many years because of its high yield and good taste. I try to plant early, since it is stored normally in winter, and germinates quickly in spring. Not afraid of drought. It looks very beautiful during flowering, so if I make a garden bed close to home, I choose Adretta for it.
Delicious puree is obtained from it. For chips, this is the best variety. I love both the taste and the look of these potatoes in stew and soup. It is not very suitable for cooking in pieces due to crumbling, in which case it is better to use a double boiler.
The variety is not very resistant to diseases, it has to be treated with "chemistry". After a few years, it degenerates, but after a radical change in the landing site, it resumes. Every 3-4-5 years I "transfer" Adrette to another vegetable garden, which differs in the composition of the soil, and again I get a good harvest. Or I pass it on to one of my gardening friends, and later I return to it again.
After a few years, any potato degenerates. You will not have to use chemistry if you update the planting material. Just do not send it to other gardens, but grow it from your seeds, then there will be no diseases.
How can you grow your potatoes from seeds? I am a beginner gardener and very far from agronomy.
How can this be done?
Collect the seeds, sow in the nursery in the spring, then into the soil, then everything is like a normal adult potato, only the nodules will be small. They will give a good harvest next year. And any potato degenerates, even changes its taste, if you do not renew it. We have been growing it since '95.
Hello everyone! They say correctly about Adretta: tasty, boiled, especially crushed and with sour cream! Yes, and in soups it is very tasty, not rubber, and what falls apart in soups, it becomes even tastier.
But what happened to me, I still don't understand - we have been planting this variety for 15 years, but once it was a bad year, it was small and small. It was like that with potatoes. At the market I saw a woman praising potatoes - Adretta, he says. I immediately bought two bags to leave for seeds. And since then I don’t recognize my Adretta - not a very pleasant smell and taste, although it falls apart and is the same in shape, very small eyes and oval, clean. And the taste is completely different. I climbed in the internet and found an explanation - our scientists brought out several of the same Adrett from German, but, they say, with very good indicators, but the taste of this variety is gone. It's a shame. Now I want to find where to get at least a bucket, to breed my Adretta.
I planted her for more than 15 years. In recent years, it has become smaller and more susceptible to phytophthora. For two years in a row I ordered mini-tubers by mail in Chelyabinsk, last year - in Novosibirsk. And they didn’t send it to Adretta !!! And now a miracle happened! They bought food potatoes from an entrepreneur for sale (in the Bryansk region). It turned out that last year he did not have enough planting material, he bought it in Germany, at that time the supplier only had it. I was very pleased with the harvest. This year he has 1 reproduction. I bought it, cooked it right away, there is no tastier potato. If someone really needs it, I will send it by mail. She herself was looking for the real one for a very long time.
I have been looking for seeds of the Adretta variety for a long time. How can I contact you?
Lena, please send me, I really want to breed.
Growing Adretta in the early 90s. Then I somehow lost the variety. Since then I can't find that Adrette. The fact that they sent me from Chelyabinsk has nothing to do with that Adretta. If someone sold the real adretta, I would be very grateful
I want to put Adretta German), if you send it by cash on delivery, I will be glad.
I have Adretta for 20 years and has not been reborn.
By the way, good reviews about the Tuleyevsky variety. They even say that he is very similar in taste and "behavior" to Adrette.
The variety degenerates in those who do not work with it. We have a clone bred from one tuber obtained from Kansk more than 30 years ago. Every year I select tubers for planting that are close to a sphere in shape, with typical varietal characteristics, with a volume of at least 2 - 2.5 eggs. We do not observe any degeneration. A wonderful potato with excellent taste. Thanks to German breeders. Recomend for everybody.
I like the variety very much. Although some do not like it due to the fact that it is very soft. But we have adapted to cook it, or steam it, or cook it in a little water.
If Adretta is delicious, then I don't understand anything about the taste of potatoes. We bought a bag of Adretta's potatoes at the market this year, for seeds to sample. Immediately I did not like that the tubers are medium or slightly above average and a little large. He tried it and said that it was not edible and would not plant such. I thought my father-in-law was too picky about taste. I also took a few kg from them. Have tried ... yes, absolutely not tasty. When cooked, it is yellow, poorly boiled. Not tasty !!! We have black soil.
We grow red (pink) potatoes, yellow oily cut. I don't know the variety (they also bought seeds on the market) - most likely Red Scarlet. The bushes are large, the yield is high. To dig a bush, you have to dig in from all sides. Delicious and easy to boil. Puree is simply divine taste.
You bought something wrong! I know Red Scarlet, I grew it. On loam, it is also fruitful, but there is no taste or spirit of potato at all. Farmers love it for a reason, unkillable, therefore for sale. If Adretta had been bad, the Germans would not have bothered to revive her. Adretta cannot be small, she is usually large.
Raised Red Scarlet. Large - yes. When you dig, the soul rejoices, but ... that's all. Nothing to taste, watery. They took everything out. Daryonka liked her taste very much. Very tasty but ... in dry 2010 it simply did not develop, all tubers remained at the pea stage.
Adretta is very tasty, although yellow. We have been planting it for 15 years and do not want to abandon it. Perfect potatoes for taste and storage.
Didn't eat potatoes tastier than Adretta. Still very tasty Romance. But Red Scarlet potatoes are very beautiful, pink, with yellow pulp, but completely tasteless, not starchy, watery - they bought it for the winter, and in the spring they had to clean it up.
This is clearly not Andretta. You were simply deceived. Andretta's taste is just super!
I planted this type of potato for over 10 years. Now I have lost the seeds. Delicious, crumbly. There is no equal in mashed potatoes. I advise you to purchase it.
They bought food potatoes from an entrepreneur for sale (in the Bryansk region). He bought Adretta in Germany. If you really need it, I can send it by mail.
I would buy from you for breeding. I had it for a long time, the variety was lost. And then whatever I bought, not Adretta, but only the name ...
Hello Lena! Last year I bought Adretta and Veteran at the market. But then I read it on the Internet - not a single variety fits the description! Therefore, I would be glad if you sent me at least a little of this sort - Adretta.
Please send it very much.
Fair every Sunday in the districts of the city. The villagers brought this variety from Rivne. Excellent potatoes, the very thing on mashed potatoes.
Adretta is one of the four varieties that I settled on after many years of variety trials in my garden, and the only foreign selection. Why Adretta? First of all, because of its taste. In my opinion, this is the most delicious potato variety. But you need to take into account that this potato is very boiled down, so we do not use it in soups, but it is ideal for frying. It emerges and grows more intensively than other varieties. This allows us to organize a kind of conveyor at work - while other varieties are growing up, we already huddle Adretta and then calmly take up the rest. I really like that the tubers are practically the same size, there are no giants, but there are no trifles either. Another big plus is that this potato is not reborn.
Of the relative disadvantages, I note that it is necessary to choose areas with lighter and looser soil for it. I tried to plant on heavy ones - in a dry summer there is no big trouble, but in a rainy summer more than half of the crop simply rotted in the ground before harvesting.
Dear friends! I, as a representative of the breeder of the Adretta variety (Norika-Slavia LLC), declare to you - the real Adretta can only be with us! In the next season 2018 - 2019, seed potatoes will be on sale in online stores. This year it was not, and is not on sale. Be careful as under the guise of Adretta, they often sell another variety!
