Potato variety Tuleevsky
As a result of painstaking selection work - intraspecific hybridization of Tuberous nightshade (Solanum tuberosum) and an optimal selection from the hybrid combination Chernsky x Tolokan by the leading breeders of the Russian Federation, an early medium-early variety of table potatoes, Tuleyevsky, was obtained, which has an incredibly high yield.
The bush of this culture is a semi-erect plant of medium height, covered with dark green leaves of medium size, intermediate and open type, with an average intensity of flowering. The corolla of the inflorescence is white, rather large. Tubers are yellow, oval in shape, covered with a skin with a mesh structure and superficial "eyes", have an average starch content (14 - 16%), yellowish pulp and excellent taste.
Tuleevsky potatoes have now gained unprecedented popularity, both among ordinary gardeners and gardeners, and among agronomists of large farms engaged in the cultivation of this agricultural crop on an industrial scale, and is one of the most common varieties. The universal recognition of this variety is due to its extremely high yield - with proper care of the plant during the ripening of the crop, up to five hundred kilograms of marketable potatoes can be obtained from each hundred square meters of cultivated land (marketability of tubers is 90 - 99%). The average yield obtained in the process of state testing is 29 - 40 t / ha, and the maximum is almost 50 t / ha. The yield in the early digging period is 14 - 20 t / ha.
High resistance to numerous viruses and diseases such as potato cancer, scab, Alternaria and late blight is also an indisputable advantage of this variety. It should be noted that it has excellent long-term maturation properties, and practically does not have spoiled tubers, both at the time of harvesting and after long-term storage in appropriate conditions. The very large size of the tubers is also an undoubted advantage. The average mass of one tuber is 200 - 300 grams, and some especially large specimens grow up to 500 grams in weight.
The cultivation of Tuleevsky potatoes is practically no different from the cultivation of other varieties, but at the same time it has several features. It reacts negatively to watering and the use of any chemical fertilizers. To feed it, it is recommended to use only natural humus, and then only in case of severe depletion of the soil; in all other cases, Tuleyevsky does not need feeding.
This year I planted these potatoes. I liked it very much. Delicious and fruitful. I took seeds in the store. If other varieties had a lot of sick potatoes, then in this of 60 holes only 1 got sick. I am very happy! I leave the whole harvest for next year's seeds.
And what are the ripening periods? In which regions of the Russian Federation is it recommended for growing?
And I was very disappointed with this variety. There is simply no talk of any unprecedented harvest. Everything is as usual. And the taste is mediocre, with Adretta he did not even come close.I read a lot of reviews on the internet and decided to try it - I didn't like it. There is no dispute about tastes!
Last year I bought the seeds of this potato. There was no particular care. Weeding and hilling. Tasty. The tubers are large, five in the nest. They were all very large with voids inside. This is a disadvantage. Although other varieties planted here were not empty. Earlier I heard that voids are formed due to improper watering. Perhaps, for this variety, this was due to the rainy July.
Today I planted this variety with my own seeds. Waiting for the results)!
This variety disappointed with its susceptibility to late blight and poor harvest.
I didn't like the first harvest in 2017, a lot of small and diseased potatoes. Some tubers could be broken by hand - they were empty inside and contained a lot of liquid. Ugh ...
The potatoes are fruitful and tasty, but either the year was damp - there are a lot of hollows in large potatoes and there are infected ones. I will not plant any more for 2 years in a row.
