Divnaya is a non-repairable variety of garden strawberries (strawberries) of medium ripening, universal use. It was bred in the early 1990s by specialists from the Leningrad Fruit and Vegetable Experimental Station. The author is G. A. Aleksandrova. To obtain, the varieties were crossed Festivalnaya and Holiday... In 2004, 13 years after filing an application for registration, the "novelty" was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation. Zoned in the North-West region of the country (Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Tver, Pskov, Kostroma, Leningrad, Vologda, Kaliningrad regions). Marvelous is recommended for cultivation in personal subsidiary and private farms in small volumes, can be grown both in open and in protected ground, in a pot culture.

The plant is vigorous, tall, erect, well leafy, very compact. The mustache of the variety is of medium length, strong, painted in a pale red color, formed in abundant quantities. The leaves are very large, medium-wrinkled, medium-silvery, slightly concave, without pubescence, bright green color with a glossy sheen. The middle lobe of the strawberry leaf is oval. The flowers are large, untwisted, white, bisexual. The inflorescence is semi-sprawling, consists of a large number of flowers. Peduncles slightly drooping, located at the level of leaves, are formed in large quantities. Peduncles are of medium length.

Berries at Divnaya are medium in size, regular obtuse-conical shape, without a neck, often elongated, with a flattened tip. The variety does not differ in the uniformity of the shape of the fruits, therefore, both rounded specimens and conical ones can be observed, during the first harvest, the presence of comb-shaped berries is possible. The skin is strong, bright red, shiny, when fully ripe it turns into a dark red, almost cherry hue. Achenes yellow, numerous, depressed to medium depth. The pulp is red, firm, but not firm, without voids, juicy, extremely aromatic. Strawberry fruits contain: 5.9% sugar, 1.7% acids, 44.5 mg% vitamin C.

The berries have a very good taste, true strawberry. The taste palette is dominated by sweetness, which is elegantly complemented by sourness, and a wonderful, pronounced aroma, reminiscent of wild strawberries, deserves special attention. The fruits are versatile in use, good fresh, great for any processing and freezing. Due to their dense pulp, the berries easily tolerate transportation and short-term storage, so Divnaya is very suitable for growing commercially.

The average weight of fruits in the season is 15-25 grams, with the first harvest more - up to 35 grams. Fruiting in strawberries is rather unstable, by the end of the season the berries become smaller, while often acquiring bizarre shapes. The yield of the variety is quite high, according to the State Register of Plants of the Russian Federation, during the state tests it amounted to 149.2 c / ha. It is possible to pick up to 1 kg of berries from one plant, and in the conditions of St. Petersburg, according to the originator, you can get 1.5-2 kg of fruits from a bush. Strawberries are declared as mid-ripening, but in different regions they behave differently, so, for example, in Ukraine they ripen on a par with the early varieties.

Divnaya has excellent immunity to diseases and pests, it is not affected more often than other varieties, but it still needs timely preventive treatments. Our heroine is distinguished by very good winter hardiness and drought resistance, as well as heat resistance, she feels great in a wide variety of climatic latitudes, on various soils. The berries are not baked in the sun, which is also a definite plus.

Strawberries are quite simple to care for, they do not require painstaking care of themselves, but they respond very well to intensive agricultural technology. One of the main points to which you should first pay attention is the need to ration the number of mustaches.The variety forms a lot of them, and if they are not removed in time, then you should not expect a good bountiful harvest. Also, avoid waterlogging, as this negatively affects the taste of the berries.

Wonderful is an excellent domestic variety that is not inferior in its performance to many favorites of the strawberry market, and sometimes even surpasses them. It is perfectly zoned in regions with a problematic climate, and it is in such areas that it can prove itself much better than the "overseas" high-yielding varieties. And, of course, our heroine has earned a lot of positive reviews about herself for a reason, and her main advantage is her very expressive taste. There are few disadvantages of Divnaya, but they are quite significant - abundant formation, heterogeneity of the shapes of berries, unstable fruiting (fruits become smaller by the end of the season), as well as a tendency to lose the brightness of taste during rainy periods. But despite such a list of disadvantages, this strawberry has earned the title of "reliable", so it clearly will not disappoint you and will not leave you without a crop.
