Cucumber variety Pasamonte (F1)
Pasamonte is a high-yielding early-maturing cucumber hybrid bred by the Dutch agricultural firm Syngenta Seeds B.V.. In 1997, it was added to the state register of the Russian Federation for two regions - Central (Moscow, Bryansk, Vladimir, Ivanovskaya, Kaluga, Smolensk, Tula, Ryazan regions) and Srednevolzhsky (Republic of Mordovia and Tatarstan, Penza, Samara Ulyanovsk regions). Suitable for cultivation in open and closed ground. Recommended for garden plots, home gardens and small farms.
Parthenocarpic variety, gherkin type. It takes 40 - 42 days from germination to collecting the first fruits.
Plants are strong enough, medium-sized, medium-branched. Leaves are slightly corrugated, medium to large, green and light green in color. 2 - 3 ovaries are formed in one leaf sinus. Due to the high level of parthenocarp, Pasamonte is characterized by increased fruit set.
Cucumbers are slightly ribbed, cylindrical, with large tubercles, 6 - 9 cm long, weighing 70 - 120 grams; fruit length to width ratio - 3: 1. The peel is a deep, dark green color, with a moderate mottling and white stripes reaching the middle of the fruit. The thorns are white. The seeds are small. The pulp is dense, genetically without bitterness.
The yield of marketable fruits is 270 - 330 c / ha (which is at the level of the standard Ratsibor variety and is higher by 68 c / ha of the Movir-1 standard). The yield of early production is 79 - 133 c / ha (for standard varieties - 101 - 118 c / ha). The output of marketable products is 94 - 98% (for standards - 78 - 99%).
A variety for universal use. The taste of the fruits is somewhat inferior to salad varieties. Their taste is revealed when salted.
This hybrid is characterized by susceptibility to downy mildew and moderate susceptibility to bacteriosis. The fruits are resistant to overgrowth (slow down their growth at the green stage) and the main diseases of cucumber - brown spot, cucumber mosaic virus and powdery mildew.
Today cucumbers with the name Pasamonte are produced by many Russian agricultural firms. The characteristics and appearance of the fruits from different manufacturers differ to one degree or another from the original produced by Syngenta.
