Cucumber variety Zozulenok (F1)

Vegetable growers are well aware of the name of the Zozulya variety, but, for sure, not everyone is familiar with the Zozulenok hybrid. Its creation in 2007 was announced by NN Selektsionnaya Station LLC. Timofeeva ". In 2008, the novelty was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia. Regions of admission - Central, North, North-West, Central Black Earth, Volgo-Vyatka, North Caucasian and Middle Volga. The cucumber is recommended for growing under film shelters in personal subsidiary plots. It is a hybrid, therefore it is labeled F1. Despite the fact that the variety is included in the State Register, not much is known about it, so we will try to correct this gap, taking into account the official information and reviews of gardeners.

  • the output of marketable products is high - about 90%;
  • strong immunity, cucumber perfectly resists many diseases. Particularly resistant to cucumber mosaic virus 1 and powdery mildew;

  • the hybrid is highly regarded for its excellent cold resistance. Even in the coldest summer, it shows amicable fruiting in the open field;
  • the variety has a parthenocarp, so ovaries appear regardless of whether there is a pollinator nearby or not;
  • many descriptions indicate that there is no bitterness in the pulp of Zozulenk, but some vegetable growers still point to this drawback;
  • the transporting qualities of cucumbers are high, keeping quality is also good;
  • way of consumption - salad. But young zelentsy show good salting qualities.

Agrotechnics

Most gardeners prefer to plant the variety in seedlings. Seedlings are sown for seedlings in April or early May. Landing in the greenhouse is carried out at the end of May, under film shelters at the beginning of June. Planting scheme: 40 - 50 cm between bushes, 50 cm row spacing. Planting density - 3 pieces per 1 square meter. A trellis tie is required, as is the formation of a bush. To stimulate the formation of lateral shoots and enhance the growth of the plant as a whole, the main stem of Zozulenk is blinded under 5 or 6 leaves. This procedure is comparable to pinching in tomatoes. To the intended height, all flowers, ovaries, shoots, whiskers are cut off at the cucumber. The plant is demanding to care. The hybrid needs fertile soils and timely feeding. He loves watering, but waterlogging and overdrying of the soil should not be allowed. For irrigation, it is advisable to use water heated in the sun. Carrying out preventive treatments will reduce the risk of fungal diseases, which often occur in greenhouses.

Hybrid Zozulenok is a high-quality early ripe cucumber with tender and juicy pulp, an excellent supplier of vitamins in the spring. Excellent yield even in unfavorable summer is highly appreciated by vegetable growers. True, the variety requires a high agricultural background, otherwise the quantity and quality of green plants will decrease. In addition, seed material will have to be purchased before each sowing.
