Tomato variety Organza (F1)
The increasing production of greenhouse vegetables around the world requires new technologies that significantly reduce the cost of growing by reducing labor costs. One of these innovations is the cultivation of vegetables, and in particular tomatoes, on low-volume substrates. New varieties are created especially for modern technologies. One of them is called Organza. The application for its registration in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia in 2006 was submitted by the company Monsanto Holland B. V. After 2 years, the novelty was entered in the register and received admission to the III light zone of the Russian Federation. Recommended for long-term cultivation as a low-volume crop, suitable for foil and glass greenhouses. The variety is a hybrid, therefore it is marked with F1.
Description
Plant of indeterminate type, tall, vigorous. The bush is open, well balanced. The type of development is predominantly generative, which increases productivity. Leaves are medium-sized, grayish-green in color. The internodes are short. The inflorescence is simple. Fruit clusters are beautiful, even, may contain more than 7 ovaries. The peduncle of the variety has an articulation.
Tomatoes are attractive in appearance, they are medium-sized - weighing 60 - 70 grams, or 45 - 49 grams according to the State Register, dense, smooth, obovate or plum-shaped with a slight pull at the top. Unripe tomatoes are light green, without a green spot at the stalk. Matured ones attract the eye with a bright, yellow-orange color. The skin is not thick, glossy. The pulp is juicy, tender, does not drain when cut. The number of seed nests is mainly 2, sometimes 3. There is a high content of sugars and dry substances in the pulp. Good taste. In 2018, as part of the Summer Seasons program, a tomato tasting was held, as a result of which the Organza, Cherry Ira and Campari hybrids surpassed many varietal tomatoes in taste. But so that the taste does not disappoint, connoisseurs advise to let the tomatoes ripen on the bush completely, and the dessert taste is achieved a week after the fruit turns orange.
Variety characteristics
- Organza is a typical representative of mid-season hybrids. From the moment of emergence to the beginning of fruiting, it takes about 103 - 113 days;
- the growing season in industrial greenhouses lasts from February to July;
- The marketable yield is decent - 21.4 kg per 1 square meter, but for the large-fruited Kunero (F1) taken as a standard, this figure is higher - 30.9 kg from the same area. Yield indicators on peat slabs in 2007 under the production conditions of the Moscow region are as follows: JSC AF "Belaya Dacha" - 21.4 kg per 1 sq. M. meters, Agrokombinat "Moskovsky" - 16.9 kg from 1 sq. meters. According to the recall of one vegetable grower, he managed to get 4.2 kg of tomatoes from one plant;
- the output of marketable products is high - 99 - 100%. These are excellent indicators not only for industrial cultivation;
- the resistance of organza fruits to cracking is average;
- It's no secret that the greenhouse climate has a beneficial effect not only on plants, but also on microflora. Therefore, outbreaks of various diseases are possible in protected ground. But due to its high immunity, the variety perfectly resists the tobacco mosaic virus (race 0 - 2), brown spot (race, A - E), fusarium wilt (race 0.1), fusarium rot of the root collar and roots, verticillary wilt. There is intermediate resistance to powdery mildew;
- in addition, the culture is plastic and tolerant of low temperatures;
- the transportability of the crop is excellent, this allows you to reduce the loss of products during transportation;
- also tomatoes show good shelf life - about two weeks;
- the way of consumption is, first of all, salad. Of course, it's a pity to process orange fruits into pasta or sauce, but one-dimensional oblong tomatoes are suitable for whole-fruit canning.
Agrotechnics
If you don't have an industrial greenhouse, don't be discouraged. Organza can be grown in an ordinary film greenhouse. But first, you should sow seeds for seedlings.The seedlings ready for transplant are about 50 days old. After transplanting, the plant must be tied to a trellis. A tomato is formed into 2 stems, for this it is recommended to pinch over the second leaf. Good results are obtained by grafting on the stock Maxifort (F1). Agricultural technology is common for an indeterminate cultivar in greenhouses.
Despite the fact that Organza is recommended as a low-volume crop, it can also be grown in soil. Good disease resistance will not only allow you to abandon the frequent use of chemicals, but also make care easier. The yield will depend on the implementation of agricultural technology. But it will not be possible to independently collect seeds for further cultivation.
For two seasons I grow this variety in my garden. Very original shape and color of the fruit. I advise you to keep the finished fruits on the bush for a few more days - the taste improves. On May holidays, I usually plant it in a greenhouse; by the beginning of August, the first fruits ripen. I do not process pests. I use it for salads and winter preparations.
We bought tomatoes in Pyaterochka. The ripe ones were selected and the seeds were taken out. It is March now, we have planted ten seeds. They all went up. I'll try to plant a couple and see what happens. I'll give it to the neighbors to try what kind of fruit it is. Interesting.
I bought tomatoes in Magnet for the New Year. So orange, attractive. I liked it very much and remembered the name Organza. I will plant it in a greenhouse in the country, be sure.
2018 year. From the Organza tomatoes bought in the winter in the store, Pyaterochka chose seeds with pulp, fermented for 2 days in a room, washed and dried. In the spring I planted it on seedlings. The germination is excellent! In the country she grew up in the open field. Gathered a high harvest.
