Tomato variety Pink Paradise (F1)
The Japanese company Sakata is well known in the world as a supplier of seed material. Currently, its task is to develop the Russian market. The company's specialists carefully study the preferences of the gardeners of our country in order to make them the most interesting proposals. For example, it turned out that consumers in Russia and Japan prefer pink-fruited tomatoes, in contrast to America, where they prefer red-fruited species. Given the consumer demand, Sakata has applied for the registration of Pink Paradise. This variety was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation in 2007 and received admission in all regions of the country. Recommended for growing in open ground and under film shelters in personal subsidiary plots. It is a hybrid, therefore the seeds must be marked F1.
Description
The plant is indeterminate, about 180 cm high. The tomato bush is powerful, with long internodes, well leafy. Leaves are medium in size, petiolate, green in color, slightly wrinkled surface. The inflorescence is of a simple type. The first fruit cluster is formed above the 7th leaf. Each fruit cluster of Pink Paradise contains from 3 to 6 ovaries. The number of brushes is about 5 - 6 pieces. The peduncle is articulated. The place of attachment of the stalk to the tomato is medium-wide.
Fruits are practically one-dimensional, flat-round, slightly ribbed, dense and elastic. An unripe tomato is green in color, when ripe has a pink, almost raspberry color. The color is uniform inside and outside. The pulp is juicy, fleshy, the number of seed nests is 4 or more. The weight of the fetus, according to the State Register, is 125 - 140 grams, according to the statement of the originator - 200 - 220 grams, the maximum weight is 400 grams. The taste is rich, sweet, with a slight sourness. The taste of the hybrid is excellent, one might say reference. The combination of flavor, color and internal structure makes this species the leader in the pink-fruited tomato market.
Variety characteristics
- Pink Paradise is a mid-season variety. From the moment of germination to the beginning of ripening, about 110 - 115 days pass. Can be used as an extended culture;
- the yield of marketable fruits, according to the State Register, is 3.9 kg per 1 square meter, according to other sources, with proper care, 4 - 5 kg per bush is obtained. According to gardeners, the yield in the open field is rather average or slightly lower;
- the immunity of the hybrid is very good - it has high resistance to the tobacco mosaic virus, fusarium (race 0.1), brown leaf spot, verticillium wilt, and root nematode. But, according to reviews, Pink Paradise sometimes suffers from top rot;
- fruit set is good, tomatoes are resistant to cracking;
- tomatoes of blanche ripeness are perfectly ripened;
- the variety is thermophilic, so in cool regions it is recommended to grow it only indoors;
- transportability and keeping quality of fruits are excellent, marketable and taste qualities do not suffer during transportation or storage;
- the way of using tomatoes is salad, for fresh consumption.
Agrotechnics
Pink pardize is grown in seedlings. I would like to note right away that, according to reviews, the seeds from the originator of the variety sprout very well, they are processed by Tiram, so you can sow them right away. The timing of sowing tomato seeds is best calculated independently, the main thing is that the seedlings are 2 months old by the expected planting period. Seedlings are grown in the usual way. The recommended greenhouse density is 4 pieces per 1 square meter. A garter is required. In order for the culture to show the best result, the manufacturer recommends forming the plant into 1 stem, removing all stepchildren. The height must be limited by pinching. When cultivated in a greenhouse, a manual pollination process should be carried out by shaking the bush with flower brushes. Pollination-assisting chemicals are most commonly used in large greenhouse complexes. The rest of the agricultural technology is common.
Pink Paradise Hybrid can be used commercially, because its taste is highly appreciated by consumers. The advantage is a strong immunity, which allows you to reduce the number of preventive spraying, and good tying. Cultivation of a culture is complicated by the need to tie and pinch the bush, but such care is inherent in all tall tomatoes, so we will attribute this to the peculiarities of cultivation. Cons - possible difficulties when growing the variety outdoors in regions with cool climates, as well as the need to buy seed material annually. Another caveat - the producer (Sakata) produces bags with a large amount of seeds, which is very convenient for those involved in the cultivation of tomatoes for sale. And ordinary gardeners buy seed from other domestic seed companies and often complain about misgrading. In order not to get upset because of possible failures, try to purchase seed through domestic firms that cooperate with the manufacturer - Sady Rossii, Tvoy Sad, Agro-SOS.
