Tomato variety Sunrise (F1)

Early ripening, low, with good immunity and stable yield - these qualities of varieties are very much appreciated when growing tomatoes. It is in this direction that breeders of well-known corporations engaged in the production and sale of seeds work. Among the foreign firms on the Russian market is the Dutch Mosanto. In 2007, another variety was registered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia, proposed by this company for the judgment of Russian gardeners. It has a very bright name - Sunrise. It is a hybrid, therefore the F1 label is applied to the seed bag. Admission to cultivation is available in all regions of Russia, the variety is recommended for cultivation in the open field of personal subsidiary plots. Seed material is distributed in our country by LLC Agrofirma SemArgo, which represents Monsanto on the Russian market.

Although the tomato is recommended for outdoor cultivation, it is often used in the greenhouse for commercial purposes. Even in cooler regions, Sunrise is best grown under cover.

Description

The plant is determinate, about 50 - 60 cm high. The stem is of medium strength, with moderate shoot formation, well leafy. The bush looks compact. Leaves are ordinary, medium-sized, green or light green, with a slightly corrugated surface. The leaf plates have good covering ability and reliably protect tomatoes from the bright sun. The inflorescence is of an intermediate type. The tomato lays 4 - 5 fruit clusters, after which it stops growing. Each cluster contains about 3 - 6 ovaries. The peduncle is articulated. The place of attachment to the peduncle is average.

Sunrise fruits are very beautiful outwardly, flat-rounded, slightly ribbed, have a good density. The skin is dense, shiny. Unripe tomato is green in color, when ripe it becomes deep red. The pulp is without voids, very fleshy, firm. The number of seed nests is 4 or more. The mass of tomatoes, according to the State Register, is 161 - 180 grams, according to information from the seed distributor - 180 - 240 grams. The palatability is excellent, although hybrids tend to taste mediocre.

Variety characteristics

  • Sunrise is valued for its early maturity, from the moment of emergence to the beginning of ripening, 85 - 110 days pass;
  • ripening is very amicable, the yield of marketable fruits, according to the State Register, is 4 kg per 1 square meter. According to other sources, up to 4.5 kg can be harvested from one bush;
  • the hybrid has a fairly high immunity. Good resistance to fusarium wilt (race 1,2), gray leaf spot, verticillium wilt (race 1), alternaria stem cancer. Sometimes on the forums there is information about a slight defeat of the culture by Fusarium. In addition, there are complaints that the harvested tomatoes become covered with black dots during short-term storage;
  • transportability is good, elastic fruits do not crumple, do not suffer from mechanical damage;
  • manufacturers declare that the Sunrise fruits are high-quality, extra quality;
  • the way to use tomatoes is salad. But the harvest can be used for juicing, and small fruits are suitable for whole-fruit canning.

Agrotechnics

It is best to grow the variety in seedlings. The sowing period must be calculated independently, taking into account the climatic features of the region and the planting site - open ground or a greenhouse. Seedlings are planted in a permanent place at the age of 55 - 60 days. Planting pattern - 40 cm between bushes in a row, row spacing - 50 cm. Recommended density - 7 - 9 plants per 1 square meter.But some experts advise a slightly lower concentration of bushes per 1 sq. meter - up to 5 pieces. A tomato garter to the support is required. Passionking is carried out up to the first fruit cluster. After planting and until harvest, standard care techniques are carried out.

Sunrise is appreciated for its early ripening and friendly return of the crop, unpretentious care and good immunity. This variety is loved by farmers who grow tomatoes for sale, and consumers have highly appreciated the taste of the fruit. The disadvantage is the inability to grow a crop from self-collected seeds. Second generation hybrids will not have good characteristics, so the seed will have to be purchased annually.
