Tomatoes bred by breeders V.N. Dederko, O. V. Postnikova and S.V. Ugarovoy is quite famous and loved by most gardeners. Take, for example, the Great Warrior variety, which was entered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia in 2008. A feature of this variety is the possibility of cultivation in unfavorable climatic conditions. Therefore, after variety trials, our hero received permission to grow in all regions of the country. Description

The plant is indeterminate, tall, easily reaches 2 meters in height in protected ground. The bush is powerful, well leafy. The internodes are short. The leaves are large, of the usual type, slightly wrinkled, dark green. The inflorescence is of an intermediate type. The first fruit cluster is laid after 8 leaves. Each brush forms 4 - 6 ovaries. In total, 5 - 7 inflorescences can form on the central stem during the growing season. The peduncle is articulated. The place of attachment of the stalk to the fruit is wide.

The fruits of the tomato are quite attractive. Their shape is flat-round, the surface is ribbed, the density is average. But the vegetable is not only attractive in forms, it is large in size, the State Register recorded a mass of 250 - 300 grams. And if you carry out rationing, then you can get half-kilogram copies. To do this, leave no more than 3 formed ovaries in the brush. The skin is glossy, firm enough, thick. Unripe tomato is green, with a dark green spot at the stalk. In the process of ripening, the vegetable begins to turn pink, and at the stage of consumer ripeness it becomes crimson. The pulp is fleshy, juicy and tender, aromatic, the number of seed nests is 4 or more. The taste is good, real tomato, combining sweetness and sourness.

Characteristics

• The great warrior is an early maturing variety. From the moment of emergence of full shoots to the beginning of ripening, it takes from 108 to 110 days. However, this period can correct the weather, accelerating or extending the ripening period;
• with good care, tomatoes from the lower and upper brushes will practically not differ in weight;
• the yield of marketable fruits under film shelters, according to the State Register, is 9.5 kg per 1 square meter. Although some Internet sources contain information about 10 - 12 kg from the same area, and still very bold statements that 16 kg of tomatoes can be removed from one plant;

• our hero, however, like most large-fruited plants, suffers from double flowers. Then deformed fruits grow from them, therefore, if you notice the wrong flower, it is better to pick it so that the plant spends its energy on a beautiful harvest;
• the State Register does not provide information on resistance to diseases. But, according to the general opinion of tomato growers, the variety is resistant to many diseases. Particularly pleasing is the opportunity to avoid phytophthora - the crop, as a rule, is removed before this insidious enemy appears;
• adaptability is very high. The plant adapts well to adverse weather conditions;
• thanks to their strong skin, tomatoes are resistant to cracking;
• the transportation capabilities of the Great Warrior are high;
• keeping quality is good. Without prejudice to appearance, the crop can be stored for 2 weeks;
• the way of use is universal. Pink tomatoes are good in their natural form. They are also used for the preparation of tomato products - juices, pastes, sauces. The fruits of this variety are not suitable for whole-fruit canning due to their large size.

Agrotechnics

Our hero is grown in seedlings.It is recommended to sow seeds for seedlings 60 - 65 days before the intended transplantation to a permanent place. Therefore, it is best to calculate the sowing time yourself in order to take into account the peculiarities of the climate. The pick is made in the phase of 2 - 3 true leaves. The recommended planting density is 3 - 4 bushes per 1 square meter. After transplanting into a greenhouse, they are tied to a trellis; in the open field, our hero is grown as a stake crop. A plant is formed depending on the place of cultivation: in a greenhouse in 1 - 2 stems, in an ordinary garden bed in 2 - 3. The tomato is unpretentious, adapts to any soil. Agrotechnics are common.

The universal use of the crop is also important; tomato products will certainly come in handy in the winter. It is a pity that the fruits are not suitable for whole-fruit canning.
