As a rule, collectible varieties of tomatoes do not take up much space in the garden. Just a few bushes to enjoy an unusual taste or appearance. Most of the land is set aside for universal crops, which will be used for salad and for rolling. Among such station wagons, a novelty with a very loud name has recently appeared - Vladyka. Its authors: Donskaya M.K., Gubko V.N., Salmina I.S., Zhitnekovskaya O.A. In the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia, our hero was registered recently - in 2015. Applicant and originator - Federal Research Center, Institute of Cytology and Genetics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The variety has received approval for cultivation in all regions of the country. Recommended for foil greenhouses in personal subsidiary plots. Not a hybrid.
Description
The plant is indeterminate, tall, 170 - 190 cm high. The stem is strong, the foliage is moderate. The leaves are dark green, of medium size, slightly more than 30 cm long, of the usual type, the dissection of the lobes is weak, the surface is slightly wrinkled. Complex type inflorescence. The first fruit cluster is formed after 9 leaves, the next ones - after 3 - 4 leaves. The main stem has 5 clusters, each with 6 - 8 fruits. The peduncle is articulated.
Fruits are beautifully heart-shaped, slightly ribbed, of medium density. Unripe tomato is light green with a dark spot at the stalk. When ripe, it becomes crimson. The skin is not thick, firm. The pulp is fleshy, juicy, tender. The number of seed nests is more than 6 pieces. Good taste. The average weight of a tomato is 204 grams. Some specimens can reach 600 - 700 grams. 100 g of pulp contains: 6.8 - 6.9% dry matter, 4.8 - 5.9% sugars, 0.30 - 0.40% acids, 15.3 - 23.5 mg of ascorbic acid.
Characteristics
- The State Register classifies Vladyka as an early-ripening variety. In other sources, the variety is classified as mid-season, noting that from the moment of full sprouting to the beginning of fruiting, it takes from 105 to 115 days;
- seed distributors describe the crop as very productive and stable. Specific figures are given only by the State Register, according to its data, the marketable yield is 6.4 kg per 1 square meter;
- immunity is good. There is resistance to tomato mosaic virus, root and apical rot, Alternaria. But some tomato growers indicate that towards the end of the growing season, the leaves may suffer from cladosporiosis;
- the plant is stress-resistant;
- fruits are resistant to cracking;
- transportability and keeping quality of fruits at an average level;
- the way of use is universal. The fruits are suitable for natural use, in cooking, for processing into tomato products, and small tomatoes are suitable for whole-fruit canning.
Agrotechnics
Seeds are sown for seedlings in late March - early April. The pick is carried out in the phase of 2 - 3 true leaves. In open ground, hardened seedlings are transplanted at the age of 55 - 70 days, when the threat of frost has passed. So, in the Non-Black Earth Zone, the transplant is carried out on June 5-10. Planting density - no more than 4 pieces per 1 square meter. Garter required. The bush is formed into 1 - 2 stems, pinching is carried out. Watering is necessary regular, warm water, top dressing - 2 - 3 times during the growing season.
Sovereign is a new but promising variety. Its value is in high yields, disease resistance and stress resistance. Tomatoes are suitable for any kind of processing. In addition, you can collect the seed yourself.
