Among the yellow-fruited tomatoes, the Golden Domes are especially honored. The variety has long been known and loved by gardeners. It was entered into the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia in 2005, although it was grown long before this event. The well-recognizable tomato was authored by V.N. Dederko, S.V. Ugarova and T.N. Postnikov. Due to its high adaptive qualities, the State Register recommends growing the variety in the open field, and any region of the country is suitable for cultivation.

Description

The plant is determinate, up to 90 cm high in the open field, sometimes it grows up to 1.5 meters indoors. Shoot-forming ability and leafiness are moderate, due to which the bush is not too thickened and has the ability to absorb more light. Tomato leaves are medium in size, dark green, regular type, with a slightly wrinkled surface. The inflorescence is simple. The first fruit cluster is laid over the 8th leaf, the next ones are formed after 1 - 2 leaves. Each cluster has about 5 ovaries. The peduncle is articulated.

The fruits of the Golden Domes are very large, not too dense, thick-walled, the shape can be either flat-round, with weak ribbing at the peduncle, or heart-shaped. An unripe tomato is light green, with a dark spot at the stalk; when ripe, it acquires a golden-orange color, beloved by many. The pulp of the variety is very fleshy, tender, juicy, but not watery, on the break it resembles a sugar watermelon, the aroma is pleasant. The cut shows that the pulp is not uniform in color, the yellow-orange range is diluted with pink inclusions. The number of seed nests is 3 - 4. The taste qualities of fresh fruits are described by the State Register as excellent. Many growers agree with this. The taste is balanced, sweet, but sourness is present, the aftertaste is fruity. The mass of a tomato according to the State Register is 213 - 400 grams. In the first fruit clusters, the tomatoes are the largest, in the subsequent ones there is a decrease in weight, but insignificant. With the correct rationing, you can get 800-gram copies.

Characteristics

• In terms of ripening, the Golden Domes are mid-season. The crop can be removed as early as 110 - 115 days after full germination;
• the yield of marketable fruits is high and, according to the State Register of Varieties, is 10.5 - 13.1 kg per 1 square meter. When following agrotechnical rules, up to 6 kg of tomatoes can be removed from one plant;
• the yield of mature marketable fruits - 76%;
• the above statistics can be spoiled by cases of cracking of ripe tomatoes. To avoid unnecessary losses and keep the presentation, ripe tomatoes should be removed in time, without letting them overripe on the brush. In greenhouses, it is important to adhere to normal humidity, which during the ripening period should not exceed 75%;
• The Golden Domes have remarkable adaptability to lower temperatures. But in the heat, problems can arise. Most often, a too hot period negatively affects the appearance of the tomato, it grows deformed;
• The variety has an amazing ability to yield almost completely in a short summer period in cool regions. But if there are still unripe tomatoes on the brushes, then in room conditions they will ripen perfectly;
• transportability is not very good. The fruits of the Golden Domes, especially at the stage of consumer ripeness, are still softish, so they can wrinkle when shaken. And they easily suffer from mechanical damage.It is not worth tightening with storage, the pulp becomes loose, so it is better to eat or process the tomatoes right away;

• the way of eating fruits is universal. Delicacy pulp is good in its natural form, combined with other salad vegetables and herbs. It is also suitable for processing, due to the increased content of dry matter, delicious adjika, unusual color juice, pasta are obtained from tomatoes.

Agrotechnics

The choice of the timing of sowing seeds for seedlings can be carried out independently, this will take into account the climatic features of the region. First of all, the variety is valued for its taste and useful properties. The preservation turns out to be bright and appetizing. Productivity with proper care does not disappoint. Care is not difficult, but still requires some knowledge and skill. The tomato does not have too obvious shortcomings. But sometimes it is a shame to remove a burst tomato from a bush.
