Apple variety Bolotovskoe
Bolotovskoe is an early winter variety of apple tree, obtained in 1977 by the All-Russian Research Institute of Industrial Development and Trade as a result of combining the genetic material of the winter variety Skryzhapel and No. 1924 (4th generation from a profusely flowering apple tree). The authors of the variety are Sedov E.N., Serova Z.M., Zhdanov V.V. and Khabarov Yu.I.
The Bolotovskoe variety was accepted for State testing in 1993. After successfully passing it, in 2002 it was entered in the State Register. Recommended for the south of the Moscow region.
The tree is fast growing, above average height (up to 10 m). The crown is of the correct rounded shape, sparse. The bark of the trunk is smooth, greenish.
Shoots are brownish, slightly pubescent, have edges in section. Apple tree of mixed fruiting type.
Leaves are medium-sized and large, in the form of an elongated ellipse, short-pointed. The leaf apex is spirally twisted. Shiny leaf plate, dark green, wrinkled, with sharp venation. The wavy edge has a serrate-crenate shape. The leaf is attached with a thick, elongated petiole with pubescence. The petiole together with the main vein of the leaf plate have a characteristic anthocyanin color.
Inflorescences in the form of a shield. One has 4 - 6 large saucer-shaped flowers. The buds are pinkish, the petals are white, rounded, open. The anther rises slightly above the stigmas of the pistils. The accrete column of pistils is glabrous, without pubescence. The pedicel is elongated.
The Bolotovskoe apple tree is characterized by normal frost resistance, however, in severe winters (minus 45 ° C), the shoots die. The presence of the Vf genome makes fruits and leaves absolutely scab resistant.
Productivity is consistently high, on average 130 kg / ha. The variety is medium-fruited. The first fruits appear in the 6-7 year of the tree's life.
The apple tree is self-fertile. The best pollinating varieties are autumn and winter varieties.
Fruits are larger than average in size. The average weight of one apple is 150 g. Fruits are not uniform (on one tree there are both small fruits weighing 100 - 120 g, and large ones weighing up to 200 g). The apples are slightly flattened, onion-shaped, with wide ribs. Oily skin without shine and waxy coating.
It is necessary to remove the fruits from the tree at the beginning or middle of September. During this period, the main color of apples is greenish or greenish-yellow. The consumer maturity coincides with the removable one, but the taste of the apple improves during storage. During storage, the color of the fruit also changes to whitish-yellow.
Over a large part of the fruit, the red blush of stripes and specks is blurred. Numerous subcutaneous points are small, hardly noticeable.
The peduncle is medium or elongated, of medium thickness, curved, set straight. The funnel is narrowed, medium-deep, with a slight rusty coating, has the shape of a sharp cone. An apple saucer of medium depth and width.
The flesh of apples with a greenish tinge, firm, extremely juicy, sweet taste with pleasant sourness.
The fruit of the Bolotovskoe apple tree is estimated at 4.4 points in appearance, and 4.3 points in taste. In early September, the apples are ready to eat.
If not removed in time, the fruits fall off the tree. Apples have good keeping quality and are stored in a cool place until mid-February.
The variety is highly appreciated for its promising use for raw orchards for juice production. By yield% of juice compared to the control variety Antonovka showed a result higher than control - about 65%.
Bolotovskoe apples contain: 0.31% acid, 14.2 mg / 100 g of ascorbic acid, 451.2 mg / 100 g of P-active substances, 17.1% of pectin substances, 10.5% sugars.
Table variety with high consumer qualities, high-quality. Good for fresh consumption, as well as for all types of processing, especially for apple juice.
The Bolotovskoye apple tree was planted in the Kurgan region (south of the Urals) in 2011. In 2014, the harvest was about 10 apples. On 09/29/2014 apples do not fall off, he himself has not yet filmed, tk. I think let them ripen to the first fallen. Outside at night 0 degrees. In the afternoon +14 more. The apple tree grows rapidly. Planted in the shade behind a large pear tree. Apples are single on the branches, but there are also 2 - 3 at once, which is why the branches bend strongly (the fruits are huge for an apple tree). I recommend.
Harvest first, so haven't tried it yet. The fruits are very large. The installation of props is mandatory.
