Cherry variety Home garden yellow

Sweet cherries do not grow very well in our region. Red ones (they are more southern) often freeze out in cold winters, among pink ones there are more winter-hardy varieties. On our site, for 30 years, the yellow sweet cherry "Homestead yellow" has been growing.

The tree was simply of great height, I had never seen such a tree anywhere else. Many frosty winters survived. I was not afraid of spring frosts and every year we reaped a large harvest from it.

The fruits of this cherry have a dense fleshy structure, a medium-thick skin and a sweet flesh with a slight sourness. Therefore, wonderful preparations for the winter (in the form of compotes) were obtained from it.

Although this variety is considered early, but here it ripened somewhere in June, later than the pink varieties.

We made a mistake that we did not cut the branches on time and allowed a very high height of the tree, which made it difficult to harvest and made it completely impossible to process it from caterpillars. It was not struck by disease.

I was satisfied with all the other qualities of this variety.
