Blackberry variety Karaka Black
1) After having tasted the large fragrant berries of the elongated shape of the blackberry Karaka Black, I ordered seedlings from the nursery. The next year, the plants gave a signal harvest, in the third year a bush with lashes of 2 - 3 meters grew, I had to tie it to a trellis. Fruiting on last year's branches, partly on summer ones. The berries did not reach the processing stage, everyone was immediately eaten fresh. The branches take root easily: in the fall, a couple of lashes dug in several places, in a month or two roots formed. The variety is rather prickly, but the taste and marketability of the berries are much better than those of the thornless varieties.

2) I am very familiar with the Karaka Black variety - I love blackberries very much, so I put together a small collection in my garden. All varieties of garden blackberries that I grow are studless, but I bought into Karaka Black after trying the berries - the taste is amazing and the size of the berries is amazing - in my opinion, this variety has the largest berries. I thought that I could put up with thorns - after all, taste and size are above all, but I was mistaken - thorns are very annoying when harvesting. Despite all the advantages, and to them you can still add decent winter hardiness (it is much higher than that of thornless varieties) and good resistance to diseases (especially fungal ones), I parted with the variety and do not regret it.
