Pear variety Guidon
Guidon is an autumn pear variety of L.A. Kotova. Obtained at the Sverdlovsk horticultural selection station through sowing seeds from free pollination of the Sentyabrskaya zabava variety.
Trees are low-growing (height - up to 3.5 m), fast-growing, the crown can be wide-pyramidal or round in shape. Shoots are thick, vertical.
The fruits grow medium to large in size (the weight of a pear usually ranges from 120 to 140 grams), the shape of the fruit is close to elongated blunt-conical or pear-shaped. The main color is greenish or greenish-yellow, the cover blush is often absent. Subcutaneous points of large size, green.
The pulp with a yellowish tinge, semi-oily consistency, cartilaginous (rather dense), slightly granular, crispy, juicy, slightly aromatic, the taste is good, closer to sweet. Tasting assessment of the taste of the variety - 4.1 points.
The time for the removable ripeness of the fruit falls on the beginning of September. The shelf life is short (up to 7 - 10 days).
The Guidon pear is characterized by an early onset of fruiting (in the 4th year). The yields are plentiful and regular, with an average yield of 55 kg per tree. The variety is winter-hardy (closer to the average level) and resistant to diseases and pests (including gall mites).
Among the main advantages of this pear: early maturity, yield, resistance to diseases and pests, winter hardiness.
The main disadvantage is the low keeping quality of the fruits.
