Krautman cabbage variety (F1)

Krautman is a hybrid of White Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. Capitata) supplied to the Russian market by the Dutch seed company Bejo Zaden V.V.. Ripens in medium terms. Suitable for commercial production. It was entered into the state register of breeding achievements of the Russian Federation in 1993. Zoned throughout Russia, except for the North Caucasus, Middle Volga and Lower Volga regions.

The leaf rosette is compact and raised. Leaves are finely wrinkled, of medium size, green in color, with a waxy bloom of medium to strong intensity. The edge of the leaf plate is smooth.

Heads of cabbage are dense, round, from medium to large size, with an average weight of 1.5 - 4 kg (up to 7 kg), half-covered with leaves, with a fine internal structure. The inner and outer stumps are of medium length. The yield of marketable heads of cabbage is 300 - 900 c / ha. Productivity per sq. meters - up to 9 kg.

Krautman is suitable for fresh and pickled varieties. Overall, this cabbage is very juicy and sweet (due to its high sugar content), so it is ideal for fermentation. The chemical composition of the heads of cabbage is as follows: total sugar 4.1%, dry matter 7.4%, ascorbic acid 46.2 mg / 100 g of raw matter. This variety is stored until March.

Advantages of Krautman cabbage: high taste properties of fresh and sauerkraut products, resistance of heads of cabbage to cracking, high yield, amicable yield of the harvest, resistance to fungal diseases of cabbage.

The disadvantages include: weak resistance to keel, as well as the fact that when ripe, the heads of cabbage fall on their side (weak root system).
