Nadezhda is a hybrid of White Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. Capitata) of medium ripening. Bred in 1969 at the West Siberian Vegetable and Potato Selection Experimental Station of the Research Institute of Vegetable Economy (NIIOKH) by crossing the varieties Slava Enkgoisena and Plotnokochannaya with subsequent selection. In 1975 he was included in the state register of the Russian Federation. Approved for use in 10 regions of Russia: Far East, East Siberian, West Siberian, Middle Volga, Nizhnevolzhsky, Ural, Volgo-Vyatka, Central black earth, North-West and Central.
Cabbage Nadezhda is suitable for commercial production. The period from emergence to technical ripeness is 120 - 125 days. From planting seedlings in the ground to harvesting, 80 - 95 days pass.
The rosette of leaves is semi-spreading, medium in size. The leaves are round, wrinkled, medium-sized, gray-green in color, with a waxy bloom of medium intensity; the edge of the leaf is wavy. Heads of cabbage are dense, medium-sized, round or flat-round in shape, weighing 2.5 - 3.5 kg; the outer color of the head is light green, on the cut it is white. The inner stump is short. The yield of marketable heads of cabbage is 695 - 1125 c / ha, the maximum yield is 1450 c / ha. Productivity per sq. meters - 12 - 14 kg.
A universal variety - it is recommended to be consumed fresh and fermented. Taste properties of fresh and sauerkraut are high.
This variety is characterized by increased drought and cold resistance, relatively resistant to gray rot, black leg and keel. Heads of cabbage are resistant to cracking. The storage period for heads of cabbage is up to 5 months.

"Nadezhda" sowed directly into the ground, rose very well and densely. When I grew up, I planted it. She tolerated the transplant well. She mulched to preserve moisture with cardboard, in the heat she poured over the leaves from a watering can. Even in a drought, she gave a good harvest.
