Cabbage variety Kolobok (F1)
Gingerbread man is a time-tested late-ripening hybrid of White Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. Capitata). In 2004 it was entered into the state register of breeding achievements of the Russian Federation. Approved for use in all regions of Russia. Suitable for commercial cultivation. From germination to harvest, 150 - 165 days pass. Originator - Selection Station named after N.N. Timofeeva (Moscow). The authorship is assigned to A.V. Kryuchkov, G.F. Monakhos, D.V. Patsuria, A.S. Semin, N.A. Kravtsov, V.I. Popov and V.N. Dubenchuk.
Cabbage Kolobok is distinguished by high biological and morphological homogeneity, suitable for machine harvesting. Very demanding on soil fertility, poorly tolerates moisture deficit. During the increased growth of the leaf rosette, nitrogen fertilizing is required, in the phase of formation of heads of cabbage - potassium-nitrogen. Preventive treatments against Fusarium should be carried out much less than on other varieties and hybrids.
The rosette of leaves is semi-raised, compact, 30 - 34 cm high, 45 - 55 cm in diameter. The leaves are dark green in color, obovate, with a smooth surface, covered with a strong waxy bloom; the edge of the leaf is slightly wavy. Heads of cabbage are very dense, juicy, rounded, 16 - 20 cm high, weighing 3 - 4.5 kg; the outer color of the head is green, on the cut it is yellowish-white. The outer stump is of medium length, the inner stump is short. The yield of marketable heads of cabbage is 865 - 1010 c / ha, which is 30 - 86 c / ha higher than the standard Amager 611... Productivity per sq. meters - 10 - 12 kg.
A universal variety - suitable for fresh consumption, fermentation and long-term storage (6 - 7 months). The output of marketable products after six months of storage is 73 - 75%. Taste qualities of this cabbage are good, both in harvested products and after long-term storage. In the fermented form, the taste is high, but according to this indicator, Kolobok is inferior to some varieties.
This hybrid is characterized by moderate resistance to fusarium wilt, gray and white rot, vascular and mucous bacteriosis; tolerant to Alternaria. However, it is highly susceptible to keel, and is also quite often damaged by the cabbage fly. During storage, heads of cabbage are practically not affected by punctate necrosis. Resistance to head cracking and transportability is high.
Advantages of Kolobok cabbage: excellent taste, high yield and keeping quality, resistance to common diseases, high presentation.
