Cabbage variety Tobia (F1)
The Tobia variety belongs to the Dutch selection. Since 2007 it has been included in the State Register of Plants of the Russian Federation for the North-West, Volgo-Vyatka, Central, Middle Volga, Ural, West Siberian and East Siberian regions. This cabbage is a hybrid, on the package with seeds there must be an F1 marking.
The variety belongs to the mid-season, that is, from the moment the first shoots appear to the start of harvesting, it takes from 120 to 140 days, depending on weather conditions.
The plant has small rounded forks weighing 1.8 to 3 kg. The leaf rosette is raised. Medium leaf. The surface is vesicular, the edge of the leaf is slightly wavy. The main color of the leaf blade is gray-green, there is a wax coating of medium intensity. It has a whitish color when cut off forks. The density of the head of cabbage is 4.1 points. The outer stump is short, the inner stump is of medium length.
The Tobia hybrid is suitable for growing in private households and on an industrial scale. Due to the dense structure of the head of cabbage, cabbage harvesting is possible mechanically.
Marketable yield at the level of the variety Satelit F1 and Glory 1305 - 322-760 c / ha. The maximum yield was shown in the Ryazan region and amounted to 832 c / ha. The output of marketable products is high - 93%.
Among other characteristics, the following are worth highlighting:
- taste is noted as good, there is no bitterness;
- leaves are thin, without coarse veins;
- heads of cabbage are intended for fresh consumption, for example, in vitamin salads, they are also suitable for pickling;
- the shelf life of cabbage is about 3 months;
- good portability;
- overripe forks do not crack;
- high resistance to fusarium wilt is noted.
Tobiya is planted with seedlings or seeds. The latter method is more practiced in warm regions. The variety is sown for seedlings in late March - early April. The hardened seedlings are planted in the ground at the age of 50 - 55 days. Seeds are sown in April - May.
Plant care involves conventional farming techniques. The originator claims the resistance of the hybrid to diseases and pests, but moderate prevention will not hurt.
The advantages of this cabbage: the ability to grow crops in different climatic regions, good taste and marketability, high yield, disease resistance.
Tobia has few drawbacks: a short shelf life, rotting of the lower leaves with excessive watering.
