Potato variety Krepysh

Krepysh is a Russian table potato variety (Solanum tuberosum) of early ripening. Received by the breeders of the A. G. Lorkh All-Union Potato Economy Research Institute in the early 2000s. For breeding were used numbered hybrid 2953−34 and variety Shurminsky-2. Our hero was included in the state register of plants of the Russian Federation in 2005. Approved for cultivation in five regions of the country: North, North-West, Central, Central Black Earth, Far East. Suitable for processing into potato products. It is appreciated for early tuberization, excellent presentation, uniformity of tubers and high yield of marketable products.

From full germination to ripening, 60-70 days pass, the first crop can be dug up already on the 45th day of the growing season.

Medium or tall plant, intermediate type. Stems are semi-erect. Leaves of medium size, intermediate type, from green to dark green in color. Medium or strong waviness is observed along the edges of the leaf plate. Corolla is large, red-violet in color.

The strong man has a rather powerful root system, 9-13 tubers are formed in one nest. Commercial copies weigh on average 78-105 grams, but they can be much larger. Oval tubers. The peel is yellow, transparent, smooth to the touch. Creamy potato pulp. The depth of the eyes is shallow or medium.

According to the results of state tests, the marketable yield of the variety is 127-242 c / ha, which is 13-84 c / ha more than indicators Zhukovsky early... During the first digging, on the 45th day of the vegetation of plants, 120-195 c / ha were obtained, 18-78 c / ha higher than the standards Zhukovsky early. During the second digging, on the 55th day after full germination, it was possible to collect 164-275 c / ha, 12-140 c / ha more than the standard. In the Moscow region, the maximum yield was recorded - 276 c / ha, 140 c / ha higher than the established standard. Marketability is very high - 86−99%. Keeping quality is excellent - 97%.

Krepysh has excellent taste qualities. The tubers are poorly boiled, the pulp is very dense, with a pleasant consistency, not mealy and not watery. When boiled, the potatoes do not lose their shape, remain intact, ready-made they can be easily cut into bars, lobes and slices. Our hero is ideal for making soups, salads, vegetable mixtures, frying, cooking in "uniform" or peeled. It is also great for processing into chips, fries, frozen convenience foods. The pulp contains 10-12.1% starch.

The variety is distinguished by its undemanding soil and climate conditions, due to which it has spread widely throughout almost the entire territory of Russia. It shows good results even in the most difficult climatic conditions, on problem soils. According to gardeners, the plants are quite drought tolerant and capable of producing a good harvest in both dry and rainy seasons. In agrotechnology, Krepysh is simple, he only needs standard elements of care. However, some subtleties can increase its yield.

  • Experts recommend sprouting tubers before planting. Firstly, this will improve the germination of seed material, and secondly, it will slightly reduce the ripening period.
  • Potatoes are planted around early to mid-May, when the soil warms up to at least + 10 ° C.
  • Tubers are buried to a depth of about 8-10 cm (less on heavy soils). The distance between the planted plants should be approximately 35 cm, the row spacing should be 60-65 cm.
  • Gardeners noticed that high-quality hilling has a positive effect on productivity. Also, the quantity and quality of tubers are influenced by other basic techniques - loosening the soil, preventive treatments against pests and diseases, weeding, feeding and watering.
  • It is very important to observe crop rotation on the site due to the low resistance of potatoes to late blight. The best predecessors will be cabbage, cucumber, onion, garlic, zucchini, legumes, green manure.
  • The variety is quite resistant to rapid degeneration, but the seed should still be renewed as needed.

The robust fellow is immune to the golden cyst nematode and the causative agent of cancer. According to the All-Russian Research Institute of Phytopathology, it is susceptible to phytophthora both in tops and tubers.

Our hero is very fond of many gardeners. It is especially appreciated for early amicable ripening and large sizes of tubers, their excellent taste and excellent presentation. A rather large number of tubers in the nest is also noted, while there are practically no trifles. Also noteworthy is the undemandingness of the potato to the soil and climate, its unpretentiousness in care. Many also speak well of the keeping quality of the variety - tubers can be stored for more than a year, while not sprouting or losing their consumer and market characteristics.

The list of shortcomings includes a moderate susceptibility to late blight, but this will not become a serious problem with timely preventive measures. In addition, plants have time to yield crops before the appearance of phytophthora. The strong man is stable, even in not very favorable seasons he will not disappoint you.

The following enterprises are officially engaged in cultivation in Russia: IE Head of the farm Sushkova Valentina Borisovna in the Voronezh region, FGBNU "Karelian State Agricultural Enterprise" in the Republic of Karelia, FGBNU "Tula Research Institute of Agriculture" in the Tula Region, LLC "Agrocenter Korenevo" in the Moscow Region ., LLC "Transholding" in the Lipetsk region., KFH Barkov Sergey Valerievich in the Tula region.
