Cucumber variety Alligator (F1)
Alligator is a variety of cucumber supplied to the market by the agricultural firm Sedek (Moscow). To date, two different, but very similar varieties are registered in the state register of the Russian Federation under this name by the Sedek company:
1) Alligator is a bee-pollinated hybrid of the mid-early ripening period. Included in the state register in 2010. Approved for use in the Middle Volga, North Caucasian, Central Chernozem, Volgo-Vyatka, Central, North-West and North regions. Designed for growing in spring film unheated greenhouses in private garden plots. The period from full germination to fruiting is 46 - 55 days. The authors of the variety are A.N. Lukyanenko, S.V. Dubinin, I.N. Dubinin.
Plants are vigorous, vigorous, medium-branched, predominantly female flowering type. In one leaf sinus, from 1 to 3 fruits are tied. Leaves are dark green, medium in size.
Fruits are elongated-cylindrical, with a neck of medium length, medium lumpy, 35 - 40 cm long, weighing 310 - 320 grams. The skin is thin, delicate, dark green, with short light stripes. Pubescence is of medium density. The thorns are white. The pulp has excellent taste, sweet, juicy, aromatic. The yield of marketable fruits is 9.4 kg / sq.m.
Salad variety - used fresh. Due to their enormous size, these cucumbers can only be salted and pickled by cutting them into slices.
The hybrid is highly resistant to powdery mildew, olive spot, cucumber mosaic virus; medium - to downy mildew. Has a long fruiting period.
2) Hybrid Alligator 2 was added to the state register in 2012. Approved for use in all regions of Russia. Designed for growing in open ground and under film shelters.
Plants are indeterminate, weakly growing, slightly branched, of a mixed type of flowering. Only one fetus is formed in the node. Leaves are dark green, large in size.
Fruits are large tuberous, with a short neck, weighing 280 - 320 grams. High density pubescence. Marketable yield in a film greenhouse - 10.1 kg / sq.m.
The rest of the characteristics of this cucumber are similar to the first variety.
