Cucumber variety Ekol (F1)
Ekol is a very productive medium early cucumber hybrid marketed by the Dutch seed breeding company Syngenta Seeds B.V.. The period from germination to fruit ripening is 42 - 45 days. In 2007, the variety was included in the state register of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasus region, which includes the republics of Adygea, Dagestan, Chechen, North Ossetia-Alania, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Rostov region, Stavropol and Krasnodar territories. Hybrid Ekol is intended for growing in open ground and under film shelters in personal subsidiary plots.
The variety is parthenocarpic (does not require pollination by bees), with a bouquet type of flowering. Suitable for picking small pickles (3 - 5 cm).
Plants are medium-sized (2.5 - 3 meters), compact, medium-growing, female flowering type, indeterminate (with unlimited growth of the main stem), with short internodes. Leaves are dark green in color, medium to below medium size. In one knot 4 - 5 cucumbers are tied.
Zelentsy are cylindrical, medium tuberous, weighing 60 - 70 grams, 6 - 10 cm long; fruit length to width ratio - 3.2: 1. The skin is deep green in color, with short blurry whitish stripes and mild mottling. Pubescence is white, high density. The pulp is genetically without bitterness. Marketable yield is 260 - 293 c / ha, which is 59 - 72 c / ha more than the standard variety Aist. In the conditions of the Bryansk region, fruiting lasts from May to the end of September.
Canning variety, but it is also good fresh. However, due to the small size and dense internal structure of the fruit, it shows its best qualities when salted and pickled.
The hybrid is resistant to cladosporia (brown spot), powdery mildew and cucumber mosaic virus.
Advantages of Ekol cucumber: high palatability of fruits, marketability, resistance to diseases, intensive fruit setting.
The disadvantages include: lack of tolerance to downy mildew (downy mildew), very thorny fruits, barrel-bumping when not picked in time.
The cucumber Ekol F1 was very pleased with its yield and taste. I grew it on the balcony last year, and this year I will plant this favorite variety again.
How did you pinch?
