Cucumber variety Claudine (F1)

Claudine is an early maturing cucumber hybrid marketed by the Monsanto Seed Breeding Company (Netherlands). In 2008 it was entered into the state register of the Russian Federation. Approved for use in all regions of Russia. Recommended for growing in private gardens. Designed for open ground and film shelters. The authorship is assigned to A.N. Kononov and H. Klein.

Cucumber variety Claudine

The variety is parthenocarpic (does not require pollination by bees), with a bouquet arrangement of ovaries. From the emergence of seedlings to the collection of the first fruits, 38 - 40 days pass.

Plants are indeterminate (the growth of the main lash is not limited), medium-sized, with an average degree of branching, exclusively with female flowers. Leaves are green in color, medium in size. The bushes are open for easy harvesting and maintenance. With proper formation and timely care, 6 - 7 fruits are formed in one node.

Cucumbers are cylindrical in shape, with small, frequent tubercles. The mass of the green is 80 - 90 grams, the length is 8 - 10 cm. The skin is soft, dark green, with light longitudinal stripes. The thorns are white, very prickly. The pulp is sweet, dense, crunchy, genetically without bitterness. The marketable yield under temporary film shelters is 10 kg / sq. Meter. Long-term fruiting.

A salad-type variety - great for fresh consumption. For canning, it is better to use other varieties, because Claudine fruits become soft when salted.

The hybrid is resistant to high temperatures, as well as the cucumber mosaic virus and powdery mildew; tolerant to downy mildew. Fruits not removed from plants in time do not outgrow and barrel for a long time.

Advantages of Claudine cucumber: early ripeness, excellent taste properties of fresh fruits, high yield.

It is believed that this hybrid replaced the discontinued variety. Claudia and is its improved copy.

I have been growing for 10 years, first in a film greenhouse, in recent years in a carbonate greenhouse. I plant in a seedling method at the end of April at 250g. cups, when stable heat comes, I transplant them into the greenhouse. It is striking that the harvest is stable, even under stressful conditions (usually in the daytime in a greenhouse at 40 ° C or more, at night I maintain at least 14 ° C. The plant branches heavily, needs to be formed and fed regularly. The taste is awesome. Although it is considered a salad variety, but we do not salt it, but pickle it and in cans it remains crispy even after 4 years of aging. Time-tested. Salting is not recommended, it becomes soft in cans, although when you make it out of it lightly salted for several days for eating at once - the taste is excellent1
