The Siberian garland is one of the cucumber hybrids of the new series of seeds "Uralsky Dachnik" from the Russian agricultural firm Mars. Originator - Chelyabinsk breeding station (Miass).
Variety of early ripening, parthenocarpic (does not require pollination by bees), with a bundle of ovaries. The period from germination to harvesting the first fruits is 43 - 45 days.
The plants are vigorous, with shortened internodes. The leaves are green, medium in size. In the knot, it is formed from 3 or more ovaries. No more than two plants are planted per square meter.
The Siberian garland is led in one stem. Thanks to this formation, the leaves of the central whip are well illuminated, and the ovaries receive a sufficient amount of nutrients. The first 3 - 4 knots blind (pinch all stepsons and ovaries). Further, almost to the horizontal trellis, all stepsons are removed, leaving only the ovaries. Already at the trellis itself in the last 2 - 3 nodes, the stepsons can be left by pinching them after the second sheet. When the central lash reaches the trellis, pinch it (remove the top) by wrapping it a couple of times around the trellis. Fruit collection should be carried out every day, or every other day.
After the plant will delight you with the first cucumbers, you need to feed it with nitrogen fertilizer. Thanks to this, new fruits will begin to pour in the leaf axils. Water the plantings with warm water, abundantly. Top dressing is carried out every two weeks, not forgetting about weeding and loosening the soil.
Zelentsy small tuberous, 5 - 8 cm long. The skin is dark green at the base of the fruit and lighter closer to the top. Frequent pubescence. The thorns are white, not prickly. The pulp is juicy, crispy, aromatic, sweet, without voids, genetically without bitterness. According to the manufacturer, the yield reaches 40 kg / square meter, or up to 400 green leaves from one plant. Such a yield is achieved, of course, only with the correct formation of plants, good care and timely harvest. unharvested cucumbers restrain the filling of new ovaries.
This hybrid is characterized by resistance to low temperatures and prolonged fruiting - up to autumn frosts. Resistant to common cucumber diseases: brown spot, cucumber mosaic virus, powdery mildew; tolerant to peronosporosis. Fruits not removed from the bushes in time do not outgrow.
A variety of a universal type. Especially good in pickles and pickles.
Advantages of the Siberian garland cucumber: very high yield due to the bunching effect, complex resistance to diseases, high taste.
The disadvantages include: the high price of seeds and the need for proper plant care to get a good harvest.
This variety is grown through direct planting of seeds in the ground or by seedling. To obtain seedlings, sowing seeds is carried out in late March - early April, at a temperature of 25 ° C. The seeds are deepened by 1 - 2 cm. Transplanting seedlings into the ground is carried out when the threat of frost has passed.
In open ground, seeds are sown at the end of May, at a soil temperature of at least 15 ° C, deepening by 1 - 1.5 cm. The crops are covered with foil. Planting pattern - 60 × 15 cm.
We discovered this variety of cucumbers for the first time. They read it somewhere and decided to try it. Planted through seedlings in a greenhouse under a film. Spring this year was late and cold, so they landed late - at the 10th of May, and the greenhouse was closed until mid-June. The seedlings took root well, not a single plant died. Planted as recommended - 2 bushes per 1 sq. m. Watered abundantly, fed. 06/18 the first zelentsy were thrown off. We were surprised by the taste - the skin is thin, the flesh is crispy, sweet, and there are very few seeds. There is no bitterness at all, even near the tail. We collect 2-3 cucumbers from one bush every day.A little, of course, but the lashes were not tied up, and the stepsons were removed only at the beginning of the growing season. So the yield with good care can be much higher.
I planted this variety for the first time, I do the weight as recommended, but 400 pieces of fruits from the plant will not work. The internodes are longer than in the photo in the article, one cucumber in the bosom. The appearance and taste are really top notch, but there is something not very good with the quantity.
