Cucumber Variety Seasons (F1)

Cucumber is a popular vegetable that every housewife can easily buy in the supermarket throughout all seasons. And all because breeders have developed varieties that can be grown in greenhouses even in the cold season. Recently, the selection and seed-growing company Manul offered a novelty called Seasons to the strict court of gardeners. Since 2015, the variety is included in the State Register. Designed for growing in open ground and film shelters of personal subsidiary plots and in industrial winter greenhouses.

Appearance

The plant belongs to the indeterminate type, which indicates its strong growth. The stems branch quite well. Leaves are medium in size, dark green, attached to long cuttings. The flowering type is female. On average, from 2 to 4 ovaries are formed in the nodes. The zelenets are fusiform, without a neck, 14-16 cm long and weighing 120-150 g. The skin is dense, but not coarse, colored bright green, there are short light longitudinal stripes. The surface of the fruit is medium lumpy, covered with white thorns. The palatability is noted as excellent.

Characteristics

  • The variety belongs to hybrids, therefore it has an F1 mark.
  • Approved for cultivation in all regions of Russia.
  • A hybrid of the parthenocarpic type, which makes it possible to get good yields without cross-pollination. This feature allows you to cultivate it in greenhouses.
  • Another advantage of this cucumber is its increased shade tolerance. The plant can be grown in shaded areas such as a garden under trees;
  • Variety Seasons - early maturing and high-yielding. Marketable yield in film shelters reaches 12 - 15 kg / sq. M.
  • Like all hybrids, it is highly resistant to many diseases - powdery mildew, the common cucumber mosaic virus. Separately, I would like to note the resistance to olive spot, or cladosporium - a fungus that is especially rampant in plastic greenhouses. Also tolerant of downy mildew.
  • The purpose of Zelentsov is universal. They are good in their natural form, for example, in vitamin salads. Housewives are happy to use them for pickling and preservation.

Planting scheme in a greenhouse - 2.5 plants per 1 sq. meter, in open ground the density increases to 4 - 5 bushes per 1 sq. meter. Due to its tallness, it is recommended to grow "Seasons" only on a trellis.

Although this variety of cucumber has recently appeared on the seed market, it is already appreciated for its high yield and long fruiting period, excellent immunity, which allows the gardener to make a minimum of effort when cultivating it. And, of course, the excellent taste of the crispy and juicy pulp.
