Early red is an old but still popular early-ripening radish. Bred by employees of the N.N. Timofeeva (Moscow). Included in the state register of the Russian Federation in 1978. Zoned throughout Russia.

Seed germination is high. From the appearance of full shoots to the first harvest, 20 - 25 days pass.

No matter how much I tried to plant the early red radish in spring, early, I never succeeded. He comes up, of course, well. But, as soon as it becomes more or less warm, the leaves are beaten by a midge and in a few days the radish is gone. I don't want to use chemistry, and the ashes, which I sprinkled on the seedlings, did not give the proper result. But I adapted to planting radishes in the fall, when after harvesting onions and garlic, there is free space. I try to sow sparsely, and if it turns out thickly after the entrances, I break through without pity. I know it will only benefit. In the trunk, one might say, almost does not go. I plant around the end of August, and at the end of October and November I already get a full-fledged radish. The taste is excellent, the presentation is also dense, juicy. In general, it is a pleasure.

Radish Early red plant constantly. And in the spring in the greenhouse to the main crops, and at the end of summer in free beds. Amicably gives the harvest and what! I really love these beautiful radishes - smooth, bright, red! The root vegetable is very crispy and juicy. But plants require watering and thinning in order to obtain a large harvest. It responds well to feeding with urea for a set of green mass and active growth. I tried to collect my seeds and plant them on microgreens in winter. Happened!
In cooking, in addition to beautiful and juicy salads, I use it for baking whole with oil and spices. Great taste and unusual side dish.
I can safely recommend this variety even to beginners.

I grow this radish exclusively in a greenhouse. Planting begins in mid-March, before that I prepare and begin to heat the greenhouse to warm the ground. Literally in a month you can already eat radishes, there is no bitterness and, most importantly, aphids and fleas do not attack, like other similar types of radish. But to be sure, I process it with ordinary ash, so that there are no pests as a top dressing. Remember to thin out in time because it can grow thin and long without tasty fruit. The land is predominantly sandy, without admixtures of chernozem. I arranged drip irrigation, but does not require much. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, it does not become lethargic and dry.

This is in order to remove the film during the day and cover it at night. But it all depends on the weather. I don't use chemistry in principle, but when a flea appears, I spray it with a solution of ammonia and sprinkle it with wood ash. This method also manages to save the harvest. Radish is tasty, juicy, without voids inside and does not go into color for a very long time. I plant a fresh and colorful vegetable on my table in the fall - in October, November.

In my garden there is always a bed with this variety. Radish germination is good. Plus, it doesn't require much maintenance. The main thing is to break through in time, so that it is not thick, and poison the midge. I don’t know why the ash didn’t help you, Antonina, but I constantly use this remedy, and not only on radishes, but also on cabbage. While everything was fine, the midge disappeared. This year we have already sown, now we will wait for the shoots. Yes, I also constantly change the place, I try not to plant on the same one. Early red radish gives a good harvest, it has a weak bitterness, which is very pleasant, not watery and tasty in any spring salad.
