Rose of Amnesia
If you have your own rose garden, then you probably want to make it the envy of your neighbors and acquaintances. This dream is easy to turn into reality - just decorate your flower garden with varietal roses. Among others, choose a proud beauty with a sophisticated appearance - a rose with the unusual name Amnesia.
History of origin
Little is known about the creation of the variety. This hybrid tea variety appeared relatively recently, namely in 2006. We owe this to the French company NIRP International. Hence, by the way, the second name of the variety: Nirpul.
Description of appearance
Our heroine is not large in size. In height, an erect bush, subject to care recommendations, can reach a maximum of 120 cm, while in width it grows to 70 cm, no more. The rose is characterized by good foliage. The leaves are formed mainly in the upper part of the bush, are painted in dark green and have a glossy surface.
The flowers of the Amnesia variety may be considered nondescript by someone, but a true esthete will certainly appreciate these creations of nature at their true worth. Their shade is very unusual and represents an exquisite combination of pastel, olive and pale lilac shades, smoothly merging into each other. The silvery edges of the terry petals complement the wonderful picture. Taking a closer look, one can notice the presence of greenish, coffee, mustard and ash notes in the color scheme. Each shoot of the plant gives only one bud, but in general, quite a lot of them appear on the bush.
The flower does not exceed 9 cm in diameter, has a goblet shape, exudes a faint pleasant aroma. The number of petals in it varies from 9 to 40 pieces. When the bud opens, the middle is exposed. The flowering of Amnesia is long and almost continuous throughout the entire growing season. An important feature of this rose is the fact that the flowers retain their shape for a long time and look neat.
Our heroine belongs to the cut varieties. The flower can stand in water for up to two weeks.
Agrotechnical features of the variety
The care required for the rose includes standard measures: regular watering, weeding, and fertilization of the soil under the culture once every 10 days. Amnesia imposes certain requirements on the soil: it must have good air permeability and not an acidic environment. The plant should be planted in an area protected from drafts, where there is a sufficient amount of sunlight. Make sure that there are no garden crops such as cherries, pears, raspberries nearby. From time to time, the plant needs pruning: the removal of shoots contributes to abundant flowering and an increase in the size of the buds that appear.
Despite the fact that Amnesia is resistant to cold, it must be prepared for winter by insulating the root system. This is especially true for central Russia. The species is susceptible to powdery mildew attacks, which can be canceled out by treating it with an aqueous solution of baking soda. In rainy weather, black spot often appears on the plant.
Amnesia will look worthy both in groups with other varieties of roses, and in combination with flowers of any kind, but in appropriate shades. However, someone will probably want to admire the solitary plants, strewn with delicate buds. In any case, our heroine will not leave anyone indifferent!
