Description of appearance and features

Baron Edmond de Rothschild is truly a royal flower. It is a compact shrub with thick, sturdy shoots covered with light, large thorns and “dressed” leathery, dark green leaves with a glossy sheen and a slight bronze tint. The height of the plant does not exceed 120 cm, the width varies from 0.5 to 0.9 meters. An exquisite Frenchwoman is made with luxurious flowers, which are formed one by one at the ends of strong, long stems. They are terry, up to 12 cm in diameter, but most importantly, they are two-colored: on the outside they are saturated purple-crimson, on the inside - light crimson-pink. At the base of the petals, of which there are 45 to 52 in each flower, the presence of white is noticeable. The form of dense buds of the plant is goblet. The scent of this wonderful rose is described as an amazing combination of the scent of chocolate with cinnamon and vanilla notes. It is simply impossible not to fall in love with him, as well as with the bright flowers of a refined beauty!

The flowering of this elegant decorative perennial is abundant, lush and long lasting. Baronne Edmond de Rothschild is a multi-flowering variety. The flowers on the shrub open slowly, providing an opportunity to enjoy their extraordinary beauty to their fullest. The aristocratic plant is hardy and quite winter-hardy. Its resistance to diseases (black spot and powdery mildew) can be called average. The flower petals are not stained by rain. In the sun, the bright color of the flowers does not fade, does not fade, and the inflorescences themselves do not bake from the summer heat. The rose bush does not need tying and support during the flowering period.

Growing and care

Our heroine is a light-loving plant, therefore, for its cultivation, they choose a sunny place or openwork partial shade. The shady sector of the site is not suitable for placing this variety, as well as the lowland, where cold air and water stagnate after rains. Baron Edmond de Rothschild reacts negatively to drafts.

The culture makes high demands on the soil. For good growth, development and lush flowering, it needs a humus-rich, moisture-consuming, loose, light and slightly acidic soil. For planting a perennial, a hole is prepared with a depth of about 50 cm.A thick layer of drainage material is laid at the bottom of the pit, followed by a layer of soil mixture, which is garden soil with peat, sand and humus (all components are taken in equal parts). After the seedling is lowered into the hole and the root system is covered with earth, the rose must be watered with lukewarm water.

The culture needs timely moistening of the soil under it. This procedure is carried out up to 2 times a week. In addition, regular feeding is important for Baronne Edmond de Rothschild. Flowers should be removed from the plant as they bloom to stimulate the appearance of new buds on the culture. In the spring, attention is paid to sanitary pruning of shoots. In the fall, all the stems of the plant are shortened in order to prepare the shrub for winter.

It goes well with conifers, flowering annuals and perennials, ornamental grasses. The flowers of this rose remain fresh for 1.5-2 weeks, therefore they are used in bouquets.

Amazing rose! The flowers are very beautiful, beautifully shaped, stay on the bush for up to 9-10 days. The fragrance is divine! Real "pink" without any fruity impurities. True, it does not last long: a fully opened flower loses its aroma for 3-4 days. But the flowers keep their shape!
