Tomato variety Agafia (F1)

Determinant tomatoes are easier to grow, because the plants themselves limit growth at a certain height by forming a flower cluster. In addition, these crops will delight with an early harvest. Well, breeders are constantly working to increase the productivity of these species. Quite recently, the agrofirm "Partner" presented a new variety with a simple Russian name Agafya to the court of tomato growers. This variety is not yet known to a wide circle of vegetable growers, but the seeds can already be purchased to try out the novelty in your garden. Moreover, the originator claims that the variety is very productive. It has not yet been entered into the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia. A tomato can be grown in open and closed ground, for example, in greenhouses or under film shelters, so it can be cultivated, taking into account its early maturity, in any region of our vast country. Agafia is a hybrid, therefore it is always labeled F1.

Description

The plant is not a standard, determinant type, however, in favorable conditions of protected ground, it can outgrow the mark of 1.5 meters. The stem of the variety is quite strong, but it will not be able to keep the crop on its own. Shoot-forming ability and leafiness are moderate. Leaves are medium in size, 27 cm long, 19 cm wide, normal type, with a slightly wrinkled surface, green in color. The bush is quite compact, the internodes are short, which explains the good yield. The inflorescence is of a simple type. The originator states that the fruit cluster consists of 6 - 7 flowers. But in the video review, you can see a long brush (up to 45 cm), similar to a bunch, in which at least 9 tomatoes have ripened. Inflorescences are formed through 2 leaves. The angle of departure of the fruit cluster from the stem is very good - almost straight. Due to this, the brush smoothly drops down under the weight of the pouring fruits and does not break off. Agafia's peduncle is articulated.

The fruits of the variety are very beautiful, although they do not differ in the traditional round shape. They are rather cylindrical or pepper-shaped, with a beautiful, neat drawn nose, thick-walled, dense, smooth. When unripe, the tomatoes are light green, the stalk has no spots. Ripening, the fruits are evenly colored red. The skin is thin but very firm. The pulp is fleshy, very juicy, sugary at the break. The dry matter content is quite high, so the pulp does not drain when cut into slices. A good plus is the small camera. There are 2 seed chambers, they contain few seeds, but sometimes small voids appear inside the fruit. The taste of tomato is wonderful, sweet. The fruits are not very large, weighing from 90 to 110 grams.

Characteristics

  • In terms of ripening, the Agafya hybrid belongs to the early maturing. The first tomatoes begin to sing 90 - 95 days after the appearance of complete gatherings. In the greenhouse, this process will be faster, and the first ripe tomato can be tasted earlier - on the 80th or 85th day;
  • the yield of the variety is excellent, not inferior even to some indents. In the open field, the culture brings 12.0 - 14.0 kg per square meter. In greenhouses, the yield indicator increases to 16.0 - 18.0 kg from the same area. On average, one plant can bear up to 4.0 kg;
  • good disease resistance is one of the characteristics that our heroine can be proud of. High immunity protects tomato from fusarium, alternaria, tobacco mosaic and bacteriosis;
  • strong skin protects Agafia fruits from cracking;
  • the variety perfectly adapts to adverse weather conditions. Originators distinguish heat resistance and drought resistance of the variety. These qualities are especially appreciated in hot regions where the lack of moisture is acutely felt;
  • due to the dense structure of the fruits, their appearance does not suffer during long-term transportation. Keeping quality is also good, but it is necessary to observe storage conditions;
  • the way of eating fruits is universal. Tomatoes are good in their natural form, they are used for cooking. The elongated shape, size and dense structure make tomatoes suitable for canning.

Agrotechnics

It is preferable to grow the Agafya hybrid in a seedling way. It is best to calculate the seed sowing time yourself in order to take into account the climatic features of the region and avoid recurrent frosts. At the stage of 2 true leaves, the seedlings dive, 2 weeks before transplanting to a permanent place, they are hardened. You can plant seedlings when she turns 55 - 60 days. Recommended density: 4 - 5 plants per square meter. Given the high growth of the crop and the load with the harvest, one cannot do without a support. Therefore, during planting in open ground, a high stake is installed near the bush, or the stem is tied to the trellis in the greenhouse. The variety requires pinching. In greenhouses, the tomato is formed into 1 - 2 stems. On an open bed, you can leave 3 or even 4 stems. The care is no different from the standard one. But in the heifer it is necessary to control the level of moisture in the soil and air, so as not to provoke the development of fungal diseases. A large crop load requires additional fertilizing, at least 2 times during the growing season.

Considering that the Agafya hybrid is quite new, there are very few reviews about it. But the originators call it one of the most productive among the determinant varieties. The plant is quite unpretentious in care, but you have to take into account the need for a garter and the formation of a bush. Agrotechnics are simple. But the yield of tomato, subject to the rules of cultivation, should be very pleasing. And the appearance of the hybrid, hung with long fruit clusters, causes pride in the soul of every vegetable grower. Good taste and versatile use of the crop pleases. But there is also a drawback. If you like the variety, then you will have to purchase seeds annually, since the material collected from the hybrid is not suitable for further cultivation. Plants grown from it simply will not be able to repeat the success of the parent.
