Tomato variety Kaspar
Tomato Kaspar is a Dutch hybrid belonging to the determinant varieties, which compares favorably with other tomatoes in early maturity, short stature, resistance to a number of fungi that cause tomato diseases, unpretentiousness, high productivity, and a long fruiting period.
The ripening period of the variety is approximately 100 - 120 days. Suitable for cultivation in greenhouses and open field in different climatic zones. Early maturity allows planting in open ground even in the northern regions of Russia.
Caspar is resistant to verticillium and fusarium, due to early ripening, the crop ripens before an outbreak of late blight appears, which can be identified as one of the significant advantages.
Short stature (bushes of Kaspar tomato have an average height of one and a half to one meter) greatly facilitates care, low bushes do not need a garter, sometimes the bushes spread along the ground. The bushes are highly fertile, which is especially beneficial when the area is small.
Caspar fruits are elongated oval in shape with a fleshy pulp and dense skin, have a slightly sour taste, therefore they are excellent for various preservation methods, although they are good to use in any form.
I am very pleased with this variety. The bush is low, which is very important in our arid region. I water it in the evening - moisture remains under the bush during the day.
The fruits are small but very firm. Housewives will understand that for pickling, spinning - these are excellent properties of the fruit. In a jar, everything is one to one tomatoes - both beautiful and tasty. The fruit does not creep in your hands when you take it out. But they are not suitable for tomato paste, they are not so juicy and the color is closer to scarlet, not saturated red. Therefore, for use in caviar, lecho is also not suitable. But Kaspar will delight the guests at the table, and just delicious in the salad.
