Tomato variety Kirzhach (F1)

Owners of small land plots do not have the opportunity to plant a large number of tomatoes to get a good harvest. The only way out in such a situation is to pick up fruitful indeterminate varieties, which will take up a little space and please with yield. In 2000, Agrofirma Gavrish LLC and Gavrish Breeding Firm LLC applied for registration of a variety called Kirzhach. The novelty was introduced into the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia in 2002 with admission to cultivation in the 3rd light zone, which includes a large number of regions and republics, mainly the Central and Middle Volga regions. The total intensity of solar radiation in this zone is 610 - 970 cal / cm2. The variety is recognized as suitable for growing in extended circulation in a low-volume culture; it shows the best results under film shelters and in glazed greenhouses. It is a hybrid, therefore it is labeled F1.

Description

Plant of indeterminate type, with unlimited growth. The stem and shoots of the variety are strong. The degree of shoot formation is medium, the foliage is strong. Tomato leaves are large in size, of the usual type, with slightly dissected plates, colored in a dark green color. The inflorescences are of a simple type, short, compact. The first fruit cluster is laid over 9-11 leaves. Subsequent ones are formed every 3 sheets. Each fruit cluster has 4 - 6 ovaries.

Kirzhach's fruits are very attractive in appearance. Good commercial qualities are confirmed by a beautiful flat-round shape, smooth surface, thickness and density. In an unripe form, the tomato is light green, without a spot at the stalk; when ripe, it acquires a rich red color. The skin is not thick, firm, glossy. The pulp of the variety is very fleshy, tender, juicy, without voids. True, sometimes a small white rod is noted near the stalk itself, however, it does not spoil the overall impression. The seed chambers are small, full, their number is more than 4. Among the early crops, our hero stands out for its excellent taste (although some tomato growers still call him common). According to the State Register, the mass of a tomato is 131 - 147 grams, the originator indicates 160 - 180 grams, the maximum weight is 500 grams.

Characteristics

  • In terms of ripening Kirzhach belongs to the mid-season. The crop ripens in 108 - 115 days from the moment of full sprouting. Such indicators make it possible to grow the variety in regions with a short summer period;
  • The marketable yield, according to the State Register, is impressive, it is 31.8 kg per 1 square meter, which practically corresponds to the standard Mayev F1 (31.7 kg per 1 square meter). The maximum yield is 36.9 kg per 1 sq. meters. From one bush, subject to agricultural technology, 6.0 - 6.5 kg can be removed;
  • the output of marketable products also has excellent indicators - 99%;
  • the variety is valuable in that even during a period of high humidity, tomatoes do not suffer from cracking;
  • immunity is excellent. Resistance to tobacco mosaic virus, olive spot, apical rot and fusarium makes care for Kirzhach much easier;
  • transportability indicators of the variety are high, due to the dense structure of the tomatoes. Keeping quality, subject to storage rules, is good - within 2 weeks the fruits retain their appearance and do not lose their taste;
  • the way of use is universal. Early production is good in salads, perfect for processing, does not crack with whole-fruit canning, strong pulp allows you to preserve fruits even in pieces.

Agrotechnics

It is preferable to grow tomatoes in seedlings. Since Kirzhach is intended for protected ground, sowing seeds can be carried out quite early - in late February - early March. When growing seedlings, additional lighting is required. You can dive already in the phase of one real leaf. Transplant to a permanent place at the age of 55 - 60 days (in warm regions, you can plant 50-day seedlings). The recommended density is 4 pieces per 1 square meter. The bush is tied to a trellis and formed into one stem. In the process of growth, all stepchildren and lower leaves are removed. To accelerate the ripening process at the end of the growing season, pinch the growing point. The care is no different from the standard one.

Hybrid Kirzhach is a reliable variety that will not fail even in adverse conditions. The excellent appearance of fruits and taste, combined with ease of care, were appreciated by tomato growers. Many of them have added the variety to the list of annually planted crops. During the growing period, no significant shortcomings were identified. Apart from the need for garter and formation of tomatoes, the disadvantage is the need for the annual purchase of seeds.
