Tomato variety Vermilion (F1)

The passion for pink-fruited tomatoes in Russia is growing from year to year. Choosing a crop, tomato growers are guided by its fastidiousness in agricultural technology. Varietal varieties are usually very moody. And many vegetable growers want to get a harvest without any problems, so they opt for hybrids. A recent novelty in this category of tomatoes amazed not only with their unpretentiousness, but also with the brightest pink color. Its name is Vermilion. The applicant and originator is Niromen Global INC. In 2015, the variety was entered into the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia with admission in all regions. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the open field of personal subsidiary plots. F1 marking confirms belonging to hybrids.

Description

The plant is determinate, up to 70 cm high. The bush is powerful, well leafy. Leaves are medium in size, normal type, green. The inflorescences are simple. Each fruit cluster of a tomato has about 6 ovaries. 5 - 7 brushes are formed on the bush, after which the vershoking occurs.

Vermilion fruits are flat-round, dense, smooth, large. The State Register recorded a mass from 184 to 213 grams, but with good care, vegetable growers received larger specimens. The skin is thin but very firm. Unripe tomato is light green, without a spot at the stalk. Ripe is filled with a bright, saturated pink color. The pulp is light pink, very fleshy, tender, does not run off when cut. There are many seed chambers - more than 6, but they are small, with a small amount of seeds. The taste qualities of the variety are rated very high, on a ten-point scale - by 10. By all indications, our hero can be attributed to Beef tomatoes.

Characteristics

  • The State Register ranked Vermilion as mid-season, but other sources indicate an earlier ripening period - 90 - 95 days after the emergence of shoots;
  • the culture is hardworking and fruitful, the load on the bush is very good. According to the State Register, the marketable yield was 13.3 kg per square meter;
  • Plants are distinguished by excellent stress resistance, tolerate sharp temperature fluctuations. That is why they are grown without shelter, even in cold regions;
  • high temperatures are also not terrible for the hybrid. In the southern regions, the tomato does not shed flowers during the heat, the fruits do not suffer from burns. In addition, the variety is successfully cultivated on dry land (land where artificial irrigation is impossible due to inconvenient location);
  • immunity is good, Vermilion is genetically resistant to verticillosis and fusarium. True, vegetable growers note that in cool regions during the period of prolonged rains, our hero can still suffer from fusarium, but only slightly. In addition, the variety is able to recover very quickly;
  • fruits are resistant to cracking;
  • transportability and keeping quality are excellent. Elastic consistency and strong skin help the fruit to tolerate a long journey well and not lose its attractive appearance;
  • the way of consumption is, first of all, salad.

Agrotechnics

Vermilion is grown in seedlings. The sowing time for seedlings is calculated independently. Agrotechnics are standard for determinate tomatoes. The bush must be tied up, otherwise, during the ripening period, the stem may bend under the weight of the harvest.

Both simple gardeners and small farmers are satisfied with the variety. The plant is very unpretentious, requires a minimum of maintenance, but at the same time shows excellent productivity. In addition, taste is pleasing, which is a rarity for hybrids in general. The only drawback is that the seeds have to be purchased annually.
