Those who appreciate reliable and productive types of tomatoes should pay attention to the Novichok variety. A variety was created at the GNU Volgograd Experimental Station VNIIR im. N.I. Vavilov Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. In 1981, an application was submitted for registration of the novelty, and in 1986 it was included in the state register of breeding achievements of the Russian Federation. Description

The plant is compact, not a standard, determinant type, 50 - 85 cm high, with moderate branching and medium foliage. The stem is quite strong, the internodes are of medium length. Leaves are ordinary, green, medium in size. The first flower raceme is formed over 6 - 7 leaves, the subsequent ones are formed every 1 - 2 leaves. In each fruit cluster of the Novice, 6-7 ovaries are formed. The peduncle is quite easily separated from the fetus.

Tomatoes are dense, oval in shape, with a smooth, glossy and rather strong skin. Unripe tomato is light green, without a dark spot at the stalk. Ripe red-orange. The pulp is moderately dense, fleshy, the number of seed nests is 3 - 5. The dry matter content in the juice is 5.2 - 6.0%. According to the tasting committee, the taste of fresh fruits was rated at 4.0 - 4.6 points, whole-canned tomatoes - 4.4 points, tomato juice - 4.2. The average weight of a ripe tomato is 73 - 102 grams.

• The beginner belongs to the mid-early varieties, the period from the appearance of full shoots to the beginning of ripening is from 114 to 123 or 127 days;

• the plant has good adaptability to weather changes, which allows it to withstand short dry periods and cold snaps;

• the way of eating tomatoes is universal. Thanks to its dense pulp, the Novice is considered one of the best varieties for preservation - it keeps its shape, does not creep, the skin does not burst. It is used in its natural form, well cut into slices and circles. Processed into tomato products, dried.

Agrotechnics

For seedlings, seed is sown 60 - 65 days before the intended transplantation to a permanent place. Sowing is carried out in March, hardened seedlings are planted on the prepared site in May. If during this period in the open ground there is a threat of recurrent frosts, the bushes are covered with covering material. In a row between plants, leave up to 40 cm, row spacing - 60 cm. This variety appeared relatively recently, entered the State Register in 2006, zoned in the Lower Volga, Middle Volga, Far Eastern, North Caucasian regions. The applicant is the same - GNU Volgograd experimental station VNIIR im. N.I. Vavilov Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The variety is suitable for outdoor cultivation. The plant is determinate, up to 60 cm high. The leaves are ordinary, green, the inflorescence is simple. Peduncle without articulation. The fruit is elliptical, dense, smooth, pink in color.Weight is 80 - 113 grams. The pulp is fleshy, the number of seed nests is 2 - 3. Good taste.

Characteristics

• The pink variety belongs to the mid-season - 110 - 130 days pass from the appearance of full shoots to the beginning of ripening;
• the yield of marketable fruits, according to the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation, is 318 - 588 c / ha, which is 119 c / ha higher than the standard Dar of the Volga region;
• drought resistance of the plant is good;
• the way of eating the fruits is salad, and the tomato is also suitable for conservation. Although, according to reviews, canned tomatoes do not keep their shape well, they can creep.

There is another variety with a similar name - Novice de Luxe. Its applicants in 2007 were Scientific Research Institute of Vegetable Plant Breeding LLC and Agrofirma Gavrish LLC. In 2011, this tomato was included in the State Register of Plants of the Russian Federation.
