Tomato variety Hlebosolny

The name of the tomato Khlebosolny immediately disposes of itself. The imagination draws hospitable hosts, a table lined with snacks, among which are juicy, fleshy tomatoes. But the variety that was bred by the breeder V.N. Dederko in 2004, and indeed meets the most daring expectations. The date of inclusion of the variety in the State Register of Plants of the Russian Federation is 2006. All regions of Russia are suitable for cultivation, since the culture can be grown in open and closed ground. The tomato is recommended for personal subsidiary plots. Baked Salted is not a hybrid, so the seeds can be safely collected for further breeding.

Description

The plant is determinate, its growth is limited to a height of 80 - 100 cm. The bush is wide, spreading, with a powerful stem, well leafy. The leaves are alternately arranged, of medium size, with a wrinkled and rough surface, dark green. The inflorescence is simple. 5 ovaries are formed in one fruit cluster. Peduncle without articulation.

The fruits of the Khlebosolny are flat-round in shape, closer to the stalk, slightly ribbed, smooth. According to the State Register of Plants of the Russian Federation, the average weight of tomatoes is from 116 to 200 grams, the originator indicates 400 grams of tomatoes. Members of the forum shared photos of 300 and 400 gram tomatoes. But not infrequently, in the description of the variety, simply giant specimens are mentioned, weighing 600 - 800 grams, and even 1 kg. The skin of the fruit is firm and elastic. Unripe tomato is green in color, with a darker spot at the stalk. Ripe - deep red. The pulp is fleshy, sugary, tender. The taste is excellent. The number of seed nests is 4 or more.

Sometimes there is information that cork stains are formed at the top of the fruit. This is due to the fact that many large-fruited tomatoes suffer from fasciation, or splicing of plant parts - pistils, stamens, petals, peduncles. The result is a double flower that forms an ugly ovary. Therefore, you can simply pluck out such a flower when found.

Characteristics

  • The period from the emergence of seedlings to the beginning of ripening is 115 - 120 days, such indicators are typical for mid-season species;
  • yield in open ground for a small plant is not bad - 3.8 - 8.3 kg per 1 square meter;
  • the output of marketable fruits of Khlebosolny is impressive - 98%, including ripe - 83% (the result was shown in the Novosibirsk region);
  • the plus is the excellent germination of the seed;
  • the variety is hardy to unfavorable growing conditions, in particular, it is resistant to a drop in temperature;
  • the tomato tolerates the lack of lighting well;

  • plant immunity is good - it is not susceptible to the tobacco mosaic virus, cladosporiosis, fusarium;
  • thanks to the dense skin, the crop will safely survive transportation and can be stored for some time;
  • Baked salted food is more suitable for use in its natural form, for example, in vitamin salads, as a side dish or decoration for ready-made meals. Juicy pulp is also suitable for the manufacture of tomato products - juices, sauces, pasta. Unfortunately, the variety is not suitable for pickling and whole-fruit canning.

Growing

For seedlings, seeds are sown 50 - 60 days before planting in a permanent place. The pick is carried out in the phase of two true leaves. The greenhouse can be transplanted in early May. In open ground - in the first decade of June, in the southern regions, seedlings are planted on the garden bed earlier, around mid-May. If the weather is unstable, then a film shelter can be installed above the bed. Planting density - 3-4 plants per 1 square meter, but not more than 6.

In order for the bush to grow overgrown with additional roots, tomato seedlings are planted at an angle. Watering culture prefers moderate, but the soil should not dry out. As fertilizers, it is preferable to use organic matter - a solution of manure 1:10 or an ash solution.

The plant is formed into 2, sometimes 3 stems. Stepson is required. In a greenhouse, the plant can show great vigor of growth, therefore, it needs to be tied up.In a heated greenhouse, the variety will be capricious - if the air temperature is too high, it may shed inflorescences or not form them at all, instead increasing the leaf mass.

Bakery Salted is popular due to its good and stable yield, high taste and unpretentiousness. In addition, you can independently harvest seeds from your tomatoes for further cultivation. Disadvantages are relative. This is the impossibility of using for whole-fruit canning and the need for a garter on a support.

A reliable mid-season variety. During the few years that I have been growing it, I have never failed with the harvest. Fully ripens 110 - 120 days after germination. The bush is of medium height, spreading. I try to grow in two trunks. It does not require picking up, it definitely needs a garter, since heavy, large fruits tend to the bush to the ground. A very serious and solid tomato.
I appreciate Khlebosolny for its consistently high yield and peculiar sweet taste. Even under the conditions of the changeable Ural summer, known for its temperature drops, it ties well, forming clusters with 5 - 6 fruits. It tolerates summer well in unprotected street beds. And in greenhouse conditions gratefully bears fruit until September, justifying its name. I try to shoot tomatoes without waiting for complete redness at the root. Then the bush gives all its strength to the formation of the next line of fruits. However, this rule works for any variety.
Fruits are large, with an average weight of 400 to 600 g. The flesh is soft, sugary at the break, tender and sweet on the palate. The fleshy fruit cut into slices does not spread, therefore it is equally valuable and tasty both raw and in home canned food.
