Onion variety Green Banner (F1)
Conducted a small experiment: how many days will it take a feather from Green Banner seeds. And I also figured out to what depth to sow, so that there would be more bleached parts of the onion, and the seedlings would break through.
I made three rows in a small box, in each row there was a different depth of seeds: 3, 2 and 1.5 cm.As expected, 3 cm deep sprouted slower, developed longer, but by the time of feather collection there was no noticeable difference in green mass , and there was more "white" in the one that sat deeper in the ground.
Sowing day - June 23. On July 1, I noticed shoots. The box was on the street, and the weather was very dry and hot - even despite regular watering, the onion clearly did not have enough air humidity. The tips were dry and growth was sluggish until early August (when a couple of rains had passed). The bow was ready for harvest on August 23,
I made a conclusion for myself: in a greenhouse, with higher air humidity, the growth would be more intense, and the appearance would be better; you can sow by 3 cm, and I would also try to huddle (either from wider row spacings so that the roots do not break, or with loose earth).
