Radish variety Rondar (F1)

Rondar is a hybrid of early maturing radish. Bred in the Netherlands by breeders of the Syngenta Seeds B.V. company. Included in the state register of the Russian Federation in 2002. Approved for cultivation throughout Russia. Suitable for sowing in early spring and late autumn.

The growing season of Rondar radish is 18 - 25 days.

The leaf socket is semi-upright. Leaves are grayish-green in color, obovate with a rounded top. The petioles are anthocyanin. The leaf apparatus is short, so sowing can be done in cassettes.

Root crops are bright red, spherical, with intense shine, 3 cm in diameter, weighing up to 30 grams. The pulp is white, juicy, tender, does not flake for a long time. Root crops are resistant to cracking; when outgrowing, they take an ovoid shape, and small voids appear in the core. Productivity - up to 1 kg per square meter.

After evaluating the yields of Dutch varieties of other vegetables, I was curious if the F1 Rondar is so good. And how does it differ from our radishes besides the cost of seeds. I was not disappointed in the acquisition. Rondar is ultra-early maturing, it's true. The leaves do not grow, all the juices go straight into the root crop, which crawls out, rounding out, from the ground, like a red girl from a dungeon. 20 days is a true truth, but not from the moment of sowing, but from germination. The radishes grow neat, as if on a pick, without long and thick rat tails. And the taste is excellent, there is no extra pungency and bitterness squeezing out tears.

Where I live, the climate for growing radishes is completely unfavorable - the spring is very short, and we have practically no time for the radishes to grow and ripen. Therefore, spring radish is a delicacy for our family. I thought about not sowing radishes at all in the spring, but a couple of years ago I came across the seeds of the Rondar variety - I decided to take a chance again, especially since I really trust Syngenta's company, which bred this variety. I am glad that I was not mistaken: the radish is early ripening and in my conditions it manages to grow, moreover, the harvest ripens amicably, that is, all the roots can be harvested from the garden in 2 - 3 days. At the same time, the roots are all even and of the same size, the taste of the radish is excellent - the pulp is crispy, juicy with a pleasant bitterness, there are no voids. Due to the early maturity, the pests do not have time to spoil the radishes, and what made me especially happy is that Rondar grows well in a greenhouse or greenhouse (the rosette of leaves is small, ripens quickly - it does not bother anyone).
