Cabbage variety Creumont (F1)

Creumont is a hybrid variety of white cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. Capitata). It belongs to late ripening, the time from emergence to technical ripeness is 165 - 170 days. The hybrid was bred by a group of breeders on the basis of the Moscow Agricultural Academy. K.A. Timiryazev. Included in the State Register of Plants of the Russian Federation since 1992. The variety is approved for cultivation throughout Russia, with the exception of the North-East region. Suitable for commercial production and mechanical harvesting. The crop tolerates transportation well.

The total size of an adult plant is 59 to 75 cm in diameter and 48 to 60 cm in height. The rosette of leaves is half-raised. Rosette leaves are dark green, with a pronounced waxy bloom and semi-fanned venation. The head of cabbage is round or round-flat, very dense (4.5 points), even and smooth, resistant to cracking. Outside, it is painted in gray-green, almost white on the cut, with a transition from light green from the edge to pale yellow in the center. The mass of Kochan is 1.9 - 2.1 kg, in the southern regions it reaches 4 kg. The size of the leaves is 38 - 55 cm in length and 34 - 40 cm in height. The outer stump is of medium size (18 - 23 cm), the inner one is short and thin.

The yield of the variety in the garden area is 5 - 7 kg per square meter, in industrial production - 409 - 510 c / ha. Creumont is characterized by uniform maturation and the same size of heads.

Good taste allows you to use cabbage raw or for harvesting. The preferred method of consumption is fresh after several months of storage. The leaves of freshly picked heads of cabbage are tough and have a bitter taste, and over time they become sweet and soft. Creumont is one of the best varieties for winter storage. The heads of cabbage are resistant to decay, and their small size allows you to compact the crop. Cabbage retains its consumer qualities for seven months. In a cool room, the harvest will lie until spring-summer next year.

This hybrid, like all late-ripening varieties, is grown in a seedling method in central Russia. Various producers declare seed germination from 78 to 92%. Sowing is carried out from February to early April. Seedlings appear together, after about a week. Seedlings are planted in open ground from late April to May according to the 40 × 60 cm scheme.

The rules for growing cabbage are standard; Creumont does not require any special conditions. Care consists in loosening the soil, weeding, regular feeding and abundant watering, especially during ripening. Harvested from September to November.

The variety is resistant to bacterial and fungal infections, fusarium wilt. The main danger is posed by insect pests, snails and slugs.

The main advantages of this cabbage are good taste, excellent keeping quality, compactness of cabbage and resistance to diseases. Creumont, among the late varieties, is distinguished by its small size and stable yield.

A wonderful variety! As soon as he appeared in my garden, he immediately became a favorite. Everything is with him: the seedlings grow strong (by the way, I do not agree with the author of the article - it is not necessary to sow so early - the seedlings will outgrow), the cabbage is practically not damaged by pests - it has thick leaves, does not get sick - I do not process anything, which means that the cabbage turns out to be environmentally friendly ...I harvest the harvest very late - it is necessary that the heads of cabbage freeze well in the garden, otherwise it will not lose its bitterness and will be tasteless. Cabbage does not crack in any weather; it lies in the cellar until summer. The variety has some advantages.
