Cabbage variety Pandion (F1)

Pandion is an ultra-early hybrid of White Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. Capitata). Bred by employees of the Netherlands agricultural firm Monsanto (Monsanto Holland B. V.). In 2005 it was included in the state register of the Russian Federation for five regions: East Siberian, West Siberian, Volgo-Vyatka, Central and North-West. Suitable for commercial production.

Cabbage variety Pandion

Pandion cabbage is recommended to be consumed fresh. It is very juicy and delicious.

The period from the appearance of full shoots to the onset of technical ripeness is 85 - 110 days, from planting seedlings in the ground to maturity - 48 - 53 days. When sowing seeds in mid-March and planting seedlings in the ground at the end of April, in early - mid-June, you can already get the first harvest.

Horizontal leaf rosette. The leaves are bubbly, small to medium in size, dark green in color, with a slight waxy bloom. The edge of the leaf plate is slightly wavy.

Heads of cabbage partially covered, rounded, weighing 1 - 2 kg, white on the cut. The density of the heads of cabbage is quite high and is estimated at 4 points. The inner stump is of medium length, the outer one is short. The yield of marketable cabbage is 280-513 kg / ha (for standard varieties Athlet and Transfer - 200 - 424 c / ha). The highest yield recorded in the Smolensk region is 539 c / ha. The yield for the first harvest is 60 - 100% of the total harvest. The output of marketable products is high - 95%.

This hybrid is resistant to fusarium wilt, and also does not crack for a long time after ripening. To obtain the earliest possible production, the variety should be grown in greenhouses.

Advantages of Pandion cabbage: very high palatability, amicable formation of an early harvest, stress resistance, high yield, good presentation, a lot of positive feedback from gardeners.

Of the early greenhouse varieties, Pandion is really one of the best. Our relatives grow it up for sale and do not boast of a friendly and very early setting. Well, and those heads that were collected first, wait for the rest before being sent to the market and do not crack.

We sow this cabbage for seedlings and plant it under a film. From the second half of April, she stands and tied in the open field. If we compare it with our old June one, Pandion's stump is larger, up to about the middle of the head of cabbage. The Dutch variety surely wins in taste. Instead of bitterness, there is one sweetness, delicious juiciness. The salad is delicious, just add chopped onion feathers and young dill.

Last spring I planted cabbage for the first time. A small garden bed. Purely for summer consumption, well, roll up borscht for the winter. I chose varieties so that there were 1 - 2 kg heads - I like these. How my family loved Pandion! Amazing taste!
Heads of cabbage are small, round. The children even ate them raw. And in the salad - generally a fairy tale. Even the neighbors admitted that this cabbage is incredibly tasty. Although before the test, it was argued that there are no big differences in the taste of different varieties.
