Cabbage variety Valentine

This cabbage ripens very late. From the emergence of seedlings to the beginning of technical ripeness, 150 - 180 days pass.

The leaf rosette is raised. Leaves are medium-sized, gray-green with a strong waxy bloom; the edge of the leaf is slightly wavy. The head of cabbage is very dense, medium-sized, partially covered, weighing 3 - 4 kg, has a rounded-oval shape. The color of the head of cabbage is white on the cut. The inner stump is short, the outer stump is of medium length. The average yield of marketable heads of cabbage is 680 - 800 c / ha (up to 1000 c / ha). The output of marketable products is 90%.

The Valentine variety is intended for consumption after prolonged storage (7 months or more). The cabbage is juicy and sweet. It is perfectly stored until July without losing its taste. Well suited for pickling and fresh consumption, cooking cabbage soup and stewed cabbage.

Cabbage variety Valentine

This hybrid is characterized by high resistance to cracking and fusarium wilt, tolerant to Alternaria and gray rot, and resistant to physiological disorders of the head of cabbage. Plants, thanks to the low leg, do not fall on their side.

Advantages of Valentine's cabbage: unpretentiousness, excellent keeping quality, uniformity of heads, high taste properties.

The main disadvantage of the variety is poor seed germination.

Valentina is my favorite and most popular variety of cabbage (suitable for late fresh consumption and for pickling). Cabbage grows without problems - it perfectly tolerates all the vagaries of nature (temperature changes, heat and dryness or torrential rains), is practically not attacked by pests and does not get sick. True, sometimes there are problems with tying heads of cabbage - in the middle of summer you have to carry out 1 - 2 fertilizing with phosphorus fertilizers. Harvest after good freezing - heads of cabbage are stored until the end of April.

Cool cabbage, one fork weighs 9 - 10 kg. Very juicy, excellent for salting. This year I will buy it again, until January it can be stored on the balcony without any problems.

I have been growing this cabbage for a long time, I really like it. Does not crack, withstands temperatures up to minus 5 degrees, so I clean late. But regarding the pests, I want to say that this summer Valentina was attacked by a cabbage flea, she had to be treated with a special preparation. Germination also leaves much to be desired, you have to use more than one packet of seeds to get a more or less high yield, but believe me, it's worth it. Cabbage is stored in the cellar until the beginning of summer and does not spoil at all, the taste is excellent.

Super cabbage !!! Very juicy, sweet and perfectly stored until the next harvest. After cutting, I dry the cabbage or remove it in dry weather, and then wrap it very tightly in cling film. That's how it is stored! Lies until July, without losing taste and juiciness. The new one has already ripened, and Valentina is still very tasty. Wrap the cabbage for the winter, but only for storage. Good luck in the country and a good harvest!

Valentina is a great cabbage, but only if it rises. For the last three years I cannot buy seeds that sprout. Can anyone advise a seed producer? I plant several varieties, everything is fine, but this one is the most delicious - no.
