Early carrots, which contain a large amount of vitamins, which are so necessary for the body after the winter period, are very valuable. Such a vegetable is nicknamed bunchy, and this is exactly what the variety belongs to, the name of which is pronounced with a somewhat French pronoun - Touchon. Agrofirma Poisk announced its creation in 2006. Our hero was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation in the 2009th year. Recommended for cultivation in the Central region of Russia (Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Moscow, Ivanovo, Ryazan, Tula, Smolensk regions), also shows good results in Moldova and Ukraine. Not a hybrid.

Description

Semi-spreading leaf rosette. Leaves are long-petiolate, medium-sized, green, medium to large dissected. Belongs to the Amsterdam variety. The root crop is cylindrical in shape, with a blunt tip, aligned. Small size - 15 - 18 cm, weight from 96 to 170 grams or a little more. The skin is very thin (you don't even need to peel it, wash it well enough), beautiful bright orange color. The surface is smooth, with small eyes. The pulp of the carrot is the same color as the skin, juicy and very sweet. The core does not differ in color from the pulp. 100 grams of raw matter contains: 9.6 - 18.4% dry matter, 5.4 - 8.2% sugars, up to 17.8 mg of carotene.

Characteristics

• Touchon refers to early ripening, from the emergence of mass shoots to harvest, 70 - 90 days pass;
• marketable yield is not bad - 296 - 416 c / ha, which is 50 - 70 c / ha higher than the indicators Nantes 4 and is at the level of the standard Gribovchanin F1. The best yield was achieved in the Ryazan region and amounted to 616 kg / ha;
• disease resistance is good;

• the yield of marketable products of the variety - 78 - 93%;
• the first crop is poorly stored, but carrots sown in the middle of summer have good keeping quality;
• the same can be said for transportability;
• the way of use is universal. Excellent taste makes the root vegetable suitable for consumption raw. Due to the high content of sugar and carotene, Tushon is excellent for making baby and diet food.

Features of agricultural technology

From soils, it prefers loose loam and sandy loam with a deep arable layer. Shading does not tolerate well, so you need to choose the most illuminated area. During growth, the culture consumes a small amount of nitrogen, therefore, preference should be given to phosphorus-potassium supplements. When using fresh manure, the shape of the carrots will be curved, many thin roots will appear.

Seeds are sown in mid-April or early May. Early maturity allows one more sowing in the second half of June. From late October to mid-November, pre-winter sowing can be carried out.

The variety is suitable for early production. Excellent taste and appearance make it possible to grow carrots for sale. Touchon is not particularly whimsical in care, in addition, disease resistance makes care easier.

The disadvantages of early production are its insufficient transportability, since the roots are very fragile and fragile, as well as their short shelf life.
