Cucumber variety Alex (F1)
Alex is an early maturing cucumber hybrid from the Dutch company Bejo Zaden B.V. In 2007, it was entered into the State Register of Plants of the Russian Federation. Approved for use in all regions of Russia. Designed for growing in open ground and under temporary film shelters in garden plots.
Parthenocarpic variety (no pollination required), female flowering type. In appearance and characteristics, Alex is similar to another Bejo product - the Adam hybrid. The period from germination to the first harvest of fruits is 38 - 42 days.
Plants are medium-sized, medium-growing, indeterminate (the growth of the main lash is not limited by the flower race). The leaves are small, from green to dark green in color. In one leaf sinus, from one to three cucumbers are formed.
Zelentsy are slightly ribbed, cylindrical in shape, with small tubercles, weighing 70 - 90 grams, 9 - 11 cm long. The ratio of fruit length to diameter is 3.1: 1. The skin is dark green (lighter at the top), with mild mottling and very short whitish stripes. The pubescence is dense. The thorns are white. The pulp is firm. The seeds are small. The yield of marketable fruits is 5 - 8 kg / square meter. In the first 10 days of fruiting, the yield is 1.5 - 2 kg / m2. Fruiting lasts until October. The output of marketable products is very high - 94%.
The variety is universal - suitable for fresh consumption and preparation of winter preparations. Fresh and canned fruit tastes good and excellent.
This hybrid is highly resistant to powdery mildew, brown spot (cladosporium) and common cucumber mosaic; weakly resistant to downy mildew (3 points out of 9). If not harvested on time, the fruits do not outgrow.
Advantages of the Alex variety: early maturity, disease resistance, amicable ripening and high taste of the fruit.
