Cucumber variety Balcony

Balcony - a parthenocarpic variety, unpretentious, female or predominantly female type of flowering. The period from full germination to fruiting is 40 - 42 days.

Plants are compact, open, medium-branched, with shortened internodes. The leaves are small, green in color. In the leaf axils, the ovaries are formed literally by whole brushes - in one sinus there can be from 2 to 8 ovaries or more. The ovaries in the knots are poured sequentially and do not dry out. Planting density in a greenhouse - 2.5 - 3 plants / square meter, in open ground 4 - 5 plants / square meter.

As a rule, by the time of mass flowering, in the lower tier of the central stem, at first only 2 - 3 ovaries may appear in the leaf axils, and later all the rest. At the same time, in the middle and upper tier, female flowers are laid in larger bunches. In the process of further growth, new ovaries appear in all leaf axils, including those located on lateral shoots.

Cucumbers are oval-cylindrical, medium lumpy, slightly ribbed, short (6 - 10 cm), weighing 80 - 90 grams. The skin is green, with short white stripes up to 1/3 of the fruit. Pubescence is of medium density. The thorns are white. Marketable yield - 9 - 11 kg / sq. Meter. Fruiting is stable up to autumn frosts (when grown outdoors).

A variety for universal use. Taste properties of fresh and canned fruits are high.

This hybrid is characterized by high resistance to olive spot, powdery mildew and cucumber mosaic virus, and medium to downy mildew. It is also quite cold-resistant. With an abundance of ovaries and greens in the nodes, the fruits do not outgrow for a long time - therefore, there is no need for regular picking of cucumbers. Also, with a large number of ovaries, the bushes need to be tied up so that they do not lie under their mass.

Advantages of the Balcony hybrid: early maturity, short fruiting, excellent fruit taste, complex resistance to diseases.
