Lenara cucumber variety (F1)
Lenara is a parthenocarpic hybrid of an early ripening cucumber supplied to the Russian market by the agricultural firm Rijk Zwaan (Netherlands). Designed for cultivation in the first and second turn on low-volume crops in winter and film greenhouses. In 2014, the variety was added to the state register of the Russian Federation for the Northern (Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions, the republics of Karelia and Komi) region.
The plants are vigorous, medium-growing, indeterminate, generative type, with exclusively female flowers, with shortened internodes and short stepchildren. The leaves are dark green, medium in size. In one leaf sinus, Lenara forms 2 - 3 fruits. For better fruiting, you should often ventilate the greenhouse and not thicken the planting.
Cucumbers are cylindrical, with small tubercles and a short neck, 11 - 13 cm long, weighing 110 - 120 grams; fruit length to diameter ratio - 3: 1. The peel is of medium thickness, rich dark green color (darker at the base, lighter at the top) with short white stripes. Pubescence is of medium density. The thorns are white. The pulp is crispy and firm. Tasting taste assessment - 4.2 points. The yield of marketable fruits is 17 kg / m2 (which is 1 kg / m2 higher than the standard variety). The output of marketable products is 90%.
The variety is salad. It is characterized by a high and harmonious early harvest.
The hybrid is resistant to olive spot (cladosporium), powdery mildew and cucumber mosaic virus. It has a powerful root system and increased shade tolerance, so it can be grown in winter-spring circulation. When outgrowing, the fruits do not barrel, but a slight thickening appears at the top. Plucked fruits do not lose their presentation within 4 - 5 days.
Advantages of Lenar cucumber: high yield and taste, keeping quality, resistance to diseases.
